So tonight we taped Episode 3 of Kentucky Sports Radio and what came out was quite a show. It should be ready for your download sometime around Noon on Wednesday, and it is packed with tidbits. Our guests on the show included Patrick Patterson, Marshall Moses, Chip Cosby of the Herald Leader and Ramon Harris’ AAU Coach. All were great and each provided news that you can use. But to wet your appetite, here are a few highlights.

(1) Patrick Patterson gave a thorough interview where he talked in detail about what he liked about his top schools and what made Kentucky, Duke and Florida appealing to him. He confirmed his visit to Midnight Madness and gave some insight into the Myspace issue and his friendship with Jai Lucas. I encourage you to listen to the interview for yourself and gauge your reaction to his comments. Everyone had a different view in the studio and it will be interesting to hear yours.

(2) Marshall Moses (pictured above) gave a GREAT interview where he showcased a funny personality and showed his obvious affection for the Cats. Moses, who says he has offers from Kentucky, Florida and Georgia….all for the 07 class, has yet to determine whether he will be in the 07 or 08 class. He said he was “working with Coach Hobbs” on deciding that issue and it should be interesting to see how it plays out. Listen for Moses’ great “Dickie V” impersonation and notice how it seems that Kentucky is on the top of the young man’s list.

(3) Ramon Harris may or may not be a Kentucky player this season, but if you listen to his AAU Coach Trevor Brown, you would think it very well may happen. Brown claims that Harris has an offer from UK for a scholarship THIS season and that if Harris is cleared by the NCAA this week, he will enroll in the school by the end of the week. Listening to this interview suggested to me that either UK is making preparations for this kid or major wires have been crossed in communication. Either way, this week will be interesting.

Finally, we have Chip Cosby of the Lexington Herald (who is a great guest) commenting on UK football and giving his predictions for the new year. Plus a roundtable discussion with me, Hubby, Chris Tomlin and the great Rob Gidel on the SEC season. Watch for it around noon and we hope you enjoy the action packed show…

Hmmm... I haven't listened to the entire thing yet but I did not get a great feeling from the Patterson interview... Patterson seemed like he knew a LOT about Florida and there were several guys on the team that he knew. We'll see...

I don't think I understand that Marshall Moses thing.

Is he saying that they're trying to figure out whether he should prep after his upcoming senior year or come right to UK?

2007 -- that would be next year's class, right?

Yeah, he is either gonna be in 2007 class or prep for grades and be 2008. Right now, from the interview, I think he is leaning toward being apart of the 2007 class.

As for this year, looks, from the interview like Ramon Harris is coming here. His AAU coach said that as long as the NCAA approved one of his earlier hs classes, then he would enroll at UK this or next week. Kid sounds good, just couldnt get a lot of attention up in Alaska. Good info on him here:

Even though I think someone posted this already. Kid sounds like a sleeper.

I think it goes in that order right now, too: UK, LSU, Ok St, 1-2-3

Really glad to hear Patrick will be taking all of his visits, so we won't suffer from being last on his list, unlike James/Vaughn

Yep, I'd rather be in this position that going first then waiting. Big Blue Madness needs to be Rockin'!

Why does no one seem excited about Harris? Is it because of what happened with Nash and the other guys?

Because I know even less about Harris than Nash!

I am excited for him though. By the sounds of it, he's already big enough to at least be a body in practice if he needs time to develop.

He definately sounds like a sleeper.

Did you all listen to this? Marshall Moses has absolutely NO CLUE who Ashley Judd is. :nada:

If the info I have read about Harris is correct I would love to have him. Solid size, can finish down low and has a good mid range jumper. I think I also read (maybe it was from the link abow) that he can hit threes. That is a good all around player. Maybe he isn't going to be our go to guy, but he sounds like a solid, 4 year player. You can't underestimate the important of the guys that can come in and help to be leaders in the third and fourth years. I think he would make a very nice compilement with the other recruits already coming in (Jasper, Meeks, Stevens, Porter). His body in practice could be one of the most huge things early on in the season and he is trying to adjus to the speed of the game. If he is as big and athletic as described, he COULD be an asset for either practice or even on the floor at some point in time. If he isn't as advertised, he could be a liability. Personally, I'm hoping we ink him and he is an asset and gets on campus immediately.

As cited in the conversation, she's old enough to be his Mom. Why would he know who she is?

I think you by missing the generational gap, my friend.

not really, since my favorite bands are predominately from the 60s, and some o f my dearest friends are in their 50's and 60's.. i may not be accurately to gauge the generational gap or number gap as i call it.. just one of the benifets of being brought up in an adult world.

just a few years older, the notion that he wouldn't know who ashley judd is, is just silly in my opinion.. though anyone can live in a cave... i just hope we get him, then i am sure he would know who she was/is then.

I generally dislike celebrities... I might add. They whole hub-bub surround her gets on my nerves and I think it takes away from the focus of the game...i.e. Vitale's obsession and the whole ESPN Game Day speech she gave last year... the constant panning of the camera to her.

I didn't know who Ashley Judd was until the UK hockey poster.

I don't really have that whole celebrity focus that most of America seems enthralled by either. Truly, the only reason I even like Ashley is because of her devotion to the Wildcats. And I agree, Vitale drooling over Ashley is disgusting. Somebody needs to tell him he sounds like a dirty old man, er... or Rick Majeras. Her movies are fine and I don't agree with her politically. But if she's being held up as the measurement for female beauty in KY, then we're (far) behind the times. I think Tara Conner would be a much better "representative" in that regard:

Guys - Marshall Moses has spent most of his life to this point on a basketball court. I doubt he's had much timefor entertainment outside of an inflated rubber bladder wrapped in leather. If he's considering playing for UK, I would prefer it that way.

It is often over the top and not really my thing, but she gets a lot of positive pub for UK and that can be nothing but a good thing. Whenever she is interviewed she talks extensively about UK and how great it is. Hell, she does more promoting of UK than Tubby does ;)

That's a sad but true point, at least most of thetime. Tubby isn't the best salesperson, though I'd rather have him than Slick Rick who we all knowis constantlyexaggerating or spinning the truth.
