Strange Combo ..But your humble servant here to deal with the issues...

Tommy Turtleneck made the amazing ststement yesterday that Lil Brudder thinkink of adding on 18,000 more seats to the Pizza Pit...Whoa Nelly as Keith Jackson would say...Better tell Kroger ..they are having a tizzy trying to fill 42,000 seats..let alone 60,000...Might take a lot of cheap hooch to get that many "red" necks out to the industrial waste site...

Kroger building a lot of new stores.but that may put them into overload..U Scan can't keep up..

On the other hand..at Penn State ..Now there is a Real Football School not like the Commuter College at 3rd and Eastern Parkway...Joe Pa..Yes The Hall of Famer was asked about using his Sophomore QB phenom .....Anthony Morelli in a similar role as Brian Brohm...Paterno said.." I don't know who Brian Brohm is.."Holy Heitzman Watch Batman..Doesn't Joe know who the Greatest ..Fastest..Strongest..Yadda Yadda ...I mean what the hell is College football coming to...

Better head to Kroger Get your seats early...Frozen Ham Hocks anyone...

more people went to games at the old cardinal stadium, than they do now. tailgating used to be great. now you have to pay a quatrillion dollars for a super double secret parking pass for an assigned spot in an asphalt lot....but they still love TJ for some reason...fools.

fools? You pack in 70,000 people a week to watch a 2-9 football team, and your AD hired Brooks, and we're fools?:lol:Maybe we love TJ because last year we were number 3 in basketball and number 6 in football. And we expect just as much or better this year.

he wasn't coaching the teams, he was just the guy that wouldn't let home fball games be shown on local TV...for some dumb reason..why would that be??? why would you need more seats, if your genius AD wont let games be on TV because he needs some way to get peopleto show up???

Who hired those coaches?? Maybe you've been out of the loop or something, but we've sold out our season tickets this year. I'd be willing to bet that a ticket to UK football gameswill alot easier to get than a UofL ticket before mid-season arrives.

he has done a great job of hiring coaches, and that being his primary job..i would say he has been successful. but as a former UL football fan and season ticket holder, he has screwed you guys over big time...and you don't even care as long as you beat the crap out of army...tailgating sucks unless you have a double secret green lot pass, that costs a quatrillion $$ and entitles you to an assigned slot of asphalt. home games not televised, weeknight games, crappy schedules..forced donations...give me the good ole days at the old stadium with 50,000 tailgating, 40,000 actually in their seats at the game and some halfway decent teams coming in to play...and every game at 4:00 on a saturday afternoon..i would rather have all that than the fools gold you all have now.

fools? You pack in 70,000 people a week
You are giving them WAY too much credit. Maybe 70,000 when they are playing us, Georgia, Florida etc. 50,000 TOPS are in blue...which is pretty sad for a "state" school. I know somebody that got FIVE seats side by side on the 50 YARD LINE for the UofL game. *Warning to UK fans* don't be surprised when you walk in to a seas of red at Papa John's East. Sounds like the blueblockers are beginning to lose their effect on the fans. I guess watching 6'4" 275 lb brother walk all over the cayuts on their way to the top...the VERY top...has given the bluebloods a reality check.

UK7 that is just plain pathetic man. I mean seriously dude. You and EVERY UK fan I know are COUNTING the days till Jurich/Pitino?Petrino leave UofL. And it's not because he has, as you say, "screwed us over". Give me a bleepin break. Last I checked you don't have to be parked in the green lot to be able to tailgate there. Unless you are in a wheelchair or unable to walk across the street for one reason or another, tailgating is just fine. Sorry man but weeknight games are all but about over...and if they are good enough for Miami, Virginia tech, etc. they are are good enough for us. I believe we have a whipping two weeknight games this season. Personally I am going to miss them. Weeknight games are the reason the entire country knows just how good Louisville is. I was just on the Buffalo Bills website reading about Gates, "weeknight games" are the reason their fans make comments like, and I quote, "Louisville is the new Miami." As far as the schedule goes, it has very much improved with the move to the Big East. Phil Steele has UK's schedule 44th and ours 79th. Throw out each other and the gap narrows several spots.

Jurich is one of, if not THEE BEST AD in the country, and completely dwarfs that airhead you guys have. This is why UofL fans are literally celebrating Barnyard's new contract, while Uk fans are STILL using the "Jurich won't be there forever, so you better enjoy it" remarks. We'll take him, thanks.

no knee, i find it absolutely hilarious your are obsessed with 6'4" 275 lb brothers. i haven't seen one post yet where you haven't mentioned it. LOL. i mean did you think that up all yourself???? LOL who gives their favorite school's weight and height. i honestly feel sorry that you have that much time. what's next: "blonde hair, blue eyes, size 38 waist???" lol.

rick, don, fever, and other UL fans whom i respect on this board, i have question. can you honestly read that and not want to tell him to stop typing it??? it would embarass me for fellow UK fans. he sounds like he wants to marry this guy.

btw ON knees 6'5" 275 isn't that big

matt the 6'4" 275 comment came from one of your own fans. This particular UK fan approached Jurich at a function and said to him,and I quote, "You know you will always be little brother don't you? It's just that now, "little brother is 6'4" 275, and big brother is still 5'9 170." No you know the whole story. This is not something I made up, so quit your damn whining.

matt57
08-24-2005, 07:16 PM
first of all no one is whining, second of all i still find it hilarious (even sad)you've given your program a heght and weight. what kind of hairdo does he have????

now to the notion that UL has suddenly zoomed passed us.....i give your football program all the credit in the world. you can ask rick, we've had several respectful exchanges regarding the status of our respective programs. however, to think that you have all of the sudden turned into a better basketball program than us is absurd. congratulations on your final four. i'm not like most UK fans who try to tarnish saying you got an easy draw, or badmouthing you because ILL beat you comfortably. hell, honestly i think UL had to get past one of the toughest outs. there are not many teams that could've beat WVU when the team was shooting like that. if any UK fan argues that ask them about the Crispin brothers. AGAIN, congrats on the final 4.

now, this was the first year in what 20 or so that you advanced further than us in the tourney. in no way shape from or fashion does that mean your program is magically better than ours now. lets not even talk about national titles or overall amount of wins. lets just look at since Rick as come back to UL. pitino is 97-35 in those years. tubby on the other hand is 109-25. now if anything we ca say that the programs are on the same playing field taking into consideration rick's first year. we are dead even in the head to head series. you have a final four we have two elite eights and a sweet 16. i would gladly trade those for the final four. however, again that does not mean your team has been more successful than ours. one year in the final four does not make you the best program in the state. it has to be sustained over long periods of time. which like it or not UL has not been able to do YET. if they do i will be more than happy to give the cards the respect they are due.

now this is some of the most honest and truthful banter you will see posted. i challenge you to respond with something that is actually well thought and well written. not just "we went to the final four and you didn't".or resorting to name calling and twisting names around. seriously, give some actual facts. something to chew on that will actually make me think your basketball program is zooming past ours like you suggest. if you can't do that just admit that you are blowing the basketball side way out of porportion and i will leave you alone.

Matt, that was a very well thought out and written post and I agreed with almost every bit of it. In all seriousness, if you guys knew me, you would know I am one of the coolest ofpeople you could meet. I know that seems hard to believe, but I am not AT ALL as I act on here....but it wouldn't be any fun at all if we all just patted each other on the back all the time. I have revealed my true identity to rickdacatkilla, and he would vouch that I am a genuinely good dude.I have SEVERAL very close friends that are UK fans. I just like having fun with you guys. Now with that being said, on to the good stuff...

We have not made it farther than UK "one time" in 20 years, we have gone farther 5 times with a couple ties. When Louisville fans talk about passing UK in basketball, they are talking about recent history. I don't know any UofL fan dumb enough to say we have a better overall program than UK. Nobody is saying that. UK is the #1 program of All Time and probably always will be. But as far as the last 3 decades go Louisville has matched UK stride for stride, and with Rick Pitino here the future is VERY secure. If you've been keeping up with the upcoming recruiting class of Sosa, Smith, soon to be Caracter andClarkyou will know that a Championship is more of a probability than ever. We will have thee best front court in the nation with one of the best back courts. Now I understand UK will be in great shape as well, I just don't see them matching our success the next 5 or so years. I may be wrong, but I would be extremely surprised if I am. As far as the Tubby/Pitino records go, that really isn't fair considering Tubby stated out with a preseason top 12 team, and Pitino was left with a 12-20 UofL team not even worthy of an NIT.

I appreciate your honesty and I too won't post very many nice things about UK at least on the smack board. But when somebody shoots straight forward with me, I am always courteous enough to return the favor... no matter how much it kills me.

mutual respect here on your post. that's all that i asked for was a straight answer and i fell that was as straight as you can get. and as far as the five year future i won't argue the fact that UL's future is very bright. on the other hand i think UK will be right there with them. i could very easily see us matching your final four run this year. i think rondo will become a dominant player. i think the big x factor for us is how much sims can contribute. i don't think it's a stretch saying uk is final four caliber. from there on it is anyone's guess as to who outperforms who. the one good thing is that we are both in on A LOT of big time recruits. one thing i have always said and will continue to say is i would much rather see UL win a title before UNC, dUKe, kansas (no worries there lol), or any other prestigious program. hell, i root for UL at times. the hoosiers are the ones i can't stand.

NOknee6of7

Yes, UK will be in great shape. They will have the #1 back court in the nationand in all honesty one of the sickest I have seen in a LONG time. (ouch that hurt) BUT...many question marks in the front court. Morris is an absolute necessity for a Final Four run, and it's not even guaranteed then. Morris really needs a shot of heart and determination. I only recall maybe 5 or 6 times last season where I was impressed with him. My jaw hit the ground when the guy threw his name in the draft. I literally rubbed my eyes in disbelief. As far as Simms goes,I am not at all sold on the JUCO thing. Those guys work out about once every 20 years or so. Not saying he won't amount to anything...just wouldn't hold my breath. UK is one or two pieces from another Title. The only problem is keeping those pieces intact long enough to finish the puzzle. Tubby will probably get the front court piece he needs in the next recruiting class, but then againI don't see Rondo there after this year. We shall see.
