Okay, stupid question; but seriously, what has been the impact of this series for both schools?

Was it a mistake for UK to put it on the schedule?

Would UL be this good had we not scheduled them?

Thoughts, please.

UL has benefited from excellent planning, excellent hirings, ESPN showing CUSA on Thursday nights, and this football game.

UK has . . . been on probation . . . :?

We have no choice but to continue this series. It will eventually force us to rise to the level required to beat UL on a yearly basis once again.

Excellent post, Caveman Catfan. You pretty much hit the nail on the head with those two statements.

UL is not where they are today because of the UK-UL Football series. They are there because they have an AD who can make a decent football coaching hire.

UK can't hire the right candidate if GOD did the hiring for them. And the fans pay for it and suck it up. UK fans keep paying and slapping down that money no matter howsorry the Coachwho gets hired.

UL fans won't attend the games if theCoach is a loser. UK fans would attend after ten years of no win seasons. And half of the fans would be talking about giving the coach who had not won a game in ten years one moreyear. lolUK football will be pathetic until attendence suffers. That is the bottom line. But UK Football fans are loyal to a fault and UKAA knows this. No one at UKAA takes winning football seriously.

My fear is that this mentality seems to be seeping over into basketball.
