Why is Mike Archer still employed by the University Of Kentucky?
All the depth has really brought us to a higher level hasn't it?

The depth argument makes the most sense late in the game. We got blitzed on the first possession tonight.
Supposedly, UL had a weak(er) O-line than in year's past. And, our defensive front was supposed to be improved. What gives?
If the administration doesn't step up and fire Brooks (which they shouldn't for at least 2 more weeks), then look for Archer to be the first to go.
(Of course, that would make sense, and why should we expect UK football to make sense?)

I've never been a Mike Archer fan, period. I didn't think he was that great when he was here before with Curry. His schemes are too complicated and we don't have the horses or mentality to play a pro style defense that he seems so bent on utilizing. He literally has our guys thinking gap control and position way too much and therefore because of his system, I believe he takes the innate aggressive nature of playing defense out of our defense by the silly *** schemes that he runs.
There was a rumor about Archer which circulated the last time he was here under Curry. Supposedly, during a scrimmage, Marty Moore made a break on a ball thrown accross the middle to a tight end, intercepted the ball and Archer came unwrapped on him because he was out of position on the play. Now, don't get me wrong I think that learning a system and being disciplined is extremely important, however, when our guys are thinking so much, that they just can't fly around with reckless abandon to attack the football because of a system, then I say get rid of the system.
Defense is not brain surgery!!! We don't look like we know what we're doing against the run because we are tentative.
Put Chuck Smith in charge of our defense starting next week and I'll guarantee it will be better immediately.
If you remember, it was Archer defenses that got us blown out on a regular basis by Florida.
If coach Brooks wants to keep his job until the end of this year, he better can Archer's butt!
Go CATS!!!
