On tv it looked like he told coach Brooks we was adjusting his elastic strap on his arm and after the run he did reach over and it "looked" like he may have done that and it may have " looked" like hemade a gesture when he did it.

Maybe he did .. Im just wondering ...other opinions

He made a gesture towards the UL cheerleaders becasue they were giving him the thumbs down when he ran the TD in for 100 yards..it was petty for the ump's to call it..I have seen worse from players as far as I am concerned Keenan was the classy player on the field last night

I think it was because he took hit hat off....which is one of the automatic calls for excessive celebration

The uavel cheerleaders look like poodles I would have flipped them off myself...They got the Bird..:dude:Typical overreacting by an official that wanted to be noticed for something...

Players often take it off a step or two before the cross the sideline. It was because he raised his arm and pulled on his arm band---and was one of the most ridiculous calls I've seen in a while. But it didn't matter. They should have called us for not fielding a defensive team.

He forgot to look at the score board.

That was it, from what I understand.

As T75 said, the flag had been thrown before Keenan had taken off his helmet (which he did only shortly before reaching the sidelines), as one announcer noted. As TrueblueCATfan said, Keenan is such a classy young man (who said a prayer on the field for his best friendMichael Bush). It's a shame that he received the penalty.

The flag was thrown before the helmet came off (right before the sideline)

It was a bullpucky call.

Burton will be remembered as the guy that left everything on the field last night,he never quit even when down by 31. More importantly he will remembered as the guy that didn't take the bus home to Lexington instead going to the hospital to be with his buddy, Michael Bush.

College football needs more Keenan Burtons.

I believeit wasthe little arm gesture he made after he reached the endzone. It was when he made a symbol pressing his right fist above left elbow making a T. I saw this all weekend long and no one else got flagged for this similar gesture that I can recall. A lame call, IMO.

I think it was this act because on the sideline he told Brooks that all he did was make this gesture. However, he did pull on the elastic strap in his demonstration to Brookswhich led me thinking that he may have fibbed the truth a little. Saying something more like along the lines "I was only adjusting the strap!". Why he might do that I dunno but its possible thatbefore they game they were warned not to do the 'T' gesture which was happening all day on Saturday.

My seats are on the wall right where he scored. After he scored he made a 'T' symbol with his arms. Those with me were a little suprised they threw it for this and wondered if he did something prior to it that maybe he got a warning for. Class kid that I wish was wearing Read and Black.

What did Burton do? JMHO, he played with fire in his belly and made every play he possibly could. All while showing the class we expect of our players.

You saw the same thing I did. He was a bright spot.

I would hate to think how we would look on offensive without Burton. He was a bright spot on a horrible night.

I think you are right.

Was he pulling at something on his arm, or was he making a "T" with his arms?

Thanks for sharing, R&B. Bless Keenan's heart. I love the guy.

Too, Keenan knows what it is like not to be able to go out on the field and compete and help one's team. I have so hoped that Keenan does not go down with an injury this season, as he so deserves to be able to be out there all year this season. It so hurt that Michael Bush went down, though, for he also so deserved to be out there this season, as he had turned down the NFL to help his team compete for a championship (or championships). It does not surprise me that these two guys are best friends.

He was no doubt making the 'T'. Its the new thing this year. At least it was on Saturday.

Did Burton actually stay and visit Michael? I heard one person sayhe wanted to, but was not permitted.

It was lame that Burton got flagged for that, but no flag was thrown when a defender ripped his helmet off and started jawing at him. I only saw it once but it seemed pretty blatant.

Two Questions:

What is the significance of the this "T" he supposedly made/didn't make?

Why wasn't the UL cheerleaders penalized for throwing the water bottle at him?

Perhaps the cheerleaders were yelling C-A-R-D-S... and Keenan showed up just as they yelled "A".

Just a theory.
