My Russell Red Devils beat Mercer county tonight 41-26, and it shouldn't have even been that close, thanks to a few mercy calls for Mercer County.

My team-the George Rogers Clark Cards (Clark County) lost a close one to Dunbar. Dunbar touchdown w/ about 20 left in the game. It was a heartbreaker cause it's the best season we've had since we were 4A state champs in '91

Warren Central now 11-1 after beating Graves County Friday night 28-14. Central's only loss this year was to heated cross town rival Bowling Green who beat them 14-6.
Bowling Green's only loss this year was to St. X who beat them 13-7 in another nail biter.
What about South Central Kentucky football? Two rural public schools power houses in football just miles apart. Warren County is a hot bed of athletic talent.
Go Dragons beat Christian County next Friday.

They sure did! That's my uncle, Coach Brown, at JH who left a few years after coaching Nelson Co. (where I went) to State Championship. He's doing a magnificent rebuilding job once again.
P.S. They take on top ranked St. X this week.. a daunting task but he's done it before.

My Bullitt East Chargers have a rematch with Boyle County for the 3A Region title This Friday in Mount Washington. The last meeting Boyle County won.
Bullitt East trounced Southwestern 31-0 after beating Marion County 62-18.
Should be a great game.
Bullitt East is a far cry from when the school came into being in 1980. In my senior year, I posted amongst my favorite memories (much to the disapproval of many of my friends on the team) the "year the football team won a game".
We've come along way! Congrats, Chargers!

I didn't figure that Mercer would win that game, but we finished 10-2 and our county is proud. The experts at the paper picked us to win 4-5 games.
Congrats Scotties on a terrific season!

My alma, the Barren County Trojans, went 4-6 and missed the playoffs. But winning 4 games and being competitive in a few others was more than most expected out of a team with its 4th coach in 4 years that only had about 30 players, which is a ridiculously low number for a 4A school.

My old school, Cumberland, went 6-4 but failed to make the playoffs. All four of their losses were in the district. When I was back in Cumberland last week I was talking to an old friend and he said the school is scheduled to be closed by 2007-08 theschool year. So one more, maybe two more, football season's are all that's left for them.

I remember playing against the Trojans (Nelson Co.) when we were both 3A. Alot of heart but I always felt the coaching was horrible given how unskilled/unorganized some of the players were on that team. Remember playing Crane all for 4 years of HS too. Do you remember him?
