Madness Tickets Distributed Sept. 30

Tickets for the 2006 Big Blue Madness at Rupp Arena will be available Saturday, Sept. 30, at 8 a.m., at the Memorial Coliseum ticket office, online at UKathletics.com, and at all Kentucky-area TicketMaster outlets. Madness, the first practice opportunity for Kentucky’s 2006-07 men’s and women’s basketball teams, is Friday, Oct. 13, at 9 p.m.

Tickets are free again this year, however online and TicketMaster outlet sales have a service fee attached. There is a limit of four tickets per person. A list of Kentucky-based TicketMaster outlets can be found at Ticketmaster.com.

At the request of campus public safety officials, fans wishing to line up ahead of time at Memorial Coliseum are asked to do so no earlier than 8 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 27. The Athletics Department will provide portable restroom facilities, but safety concerns will prohibit the use of permanent, wooden-type structures, and propane tanks or other open flames used in cooking.

Last year, the first time Madness was held at Rupp Arena, drew a national-record 23,174 fans for UK’s first practice. 20,000 tickets were snapped up in the first 35 minutes of availability.

This sucks. We all camp out every year for a few days beforehand, and now they are limiting us to just 3?

I'd love to go to just one, but the drive is just too much to watch them practice, especially when I catch it on TV every year. I love just relaxing in the chair, pressing "record" and just enjoying it.

It is my husbands birthday and I am so hoping that I am able to snag a couple of tickets to surprise him with. I am unable to come to Lexington to camp out in line( although it sounds like a fun thing to do) I will just have to camp out at this desk and hope that I am quick enough to get some from ticketmaster. I appreciate any suggestions and sure fire tricks that anyone might have for me. Go Cats!

I don't remember the exact time the day the tickets are sold online become available but I am sure it will be posted here. What I did was get behind my computer as soon as the big hand on was on the hour (8AM??) and I kept pressing that reserve tickets button until I got them confirmed. Took a couple tries but I got'em!
