At the end of last season Perryfinally began looking relaxed and confident on the court and wasnothing short of terrific in a few games. Against 'Bama in the SEC tourney, for example, he hit a team-high 13 points and followed that up in the NCAA tourney with 25 against UAB and 20 against UCONN. He's got such a complete game thatif he's playing well he's tough to stop. His late season playhad to be a big boost to his confidence, and hopefullyit willcarry over to this season. A confident Bobby Perry with 10-15 pounds of added muscle would be a terror.:ggrin:

I saw Bobby Perry in October and told everybody I knew that he was going to have a monster season. I saw the kid take a ball in practice baseline and jam it in two or three players' faces.

When the season started, he lost some of his confidence. He missed that shot against Iowa, and I think that rattled him. It got to the point in December and January where he wasn't making anything in the paint.

As we saw in the NCAAs, he's a player who needs to get to the foul line. If he becomes a player who just wafts around the three point line, he won't be effective; likewise, if he tries to be a bruiser, he won't be effective.

His game is all about disrupting the opposition. If he can get a couple of shots early and then get it going toward the basket, he's got all the tools and size to be a 12 or 14 ppg scorer -- and that would help this team immensely.

Bobby is a classic "X-factor" player for us. Morris/Crawford/Bradley will get the focus of scouting reports. Perry has been up n' down, so I doubt many teams will start the year trying to shut him down (as opposed to Morris). If he gets off to a great start, he could be hard to stop.

i really like bobby perry. he has worked really hard to get where he is, and i see him getting low double figures. i think he could average 10 or 11 points for the season.

and he is really hitting his shots now. he seems much more confident. he can hit the 3 and is now the best FF shooter on the team.

i love how hard he works and i think that will really lift the team.

and he should do better playing at his true position of SF this season.

:cool:Yes it is...and I might add we need Sheray to step it up...we are not deep at the forward position...Will, I was in KC when Bobby missed that layup...oh my.
