Very Impressive. I really like Perry. I wish he was a Kentucky Boy and not a North Carolina boy. I hope he continues his stellar NCAA play in the coming season.

Exactly. 7 Rebounds per gameand 22.5 Points per game in the NCAA Tournament. Absolutely Awesome. That was against two (2) Top 25 Teams. I hope he can continue that type of performance. If he can, we're an awesome team :thumbup. If he can't, we SUK :thumbdown.

I wouldn't care if he was born and grew up in in Afghanistan. He is a Wildcat. That's good enough credentials for me.

I like it, Gunsmoke! :ggrin:Too, I agree with your opinion, althoughmeans nothing about my sharpness, or lack thereof! :ggrin:
Seriously, though, like others, I love how Bobby Perry played in the NCAA Tourney. I have read that he sometimes suffered from a lack of confidence last season. Hopefully how he played late AND another year of maturing will have a very positive effect on his game this season.
Bobby Perry is a fine young man, based on everything I have read about him, and he is a noticeably humble gentlemen, based onthe couple of times I have spoken with him.It is not surprising that he is a member of the UK Athletic Association board.
I wish Bobby Perry a GREAT season, which indeed can be huge for the UK basketball team and its success this coming season.

Yeah, I'd like to go on record as being someone who has underrated and underappreciated Bobby during his career as a Wildcat. While I may have a few faults with him on the court in the past (just not being aggressive enough), I'll have to say that the reputation he's built off of the court (personally, academically, and just in general) speaks volumes for the impact he's made in 3 years. It's the type of impact that doesn't become statistical lore in often spoken of cats. I'd say Bobby has done alot for his teammates and for the appearance of this program that we'll never know about.
Bobby Perry, a BIG :thumbupto ya, and I was wrong. Here's to a great senior season for you!!! :wildcatface

DITTO that Matt. Great post...I was also one not enamoured with on court performances, but I await this year with hope for BP's leadership and am humbled by his off court contributions as well.

If he is allowed to play the SF, exclusively, he should continue to excel - perfect size for a collegiate 3 ...

I pretty much agree.
But he did a lot of his damage late in the season (and remember, he was awesome in the Alabama game in the SEC Tournament, hitting the game-winning shot for us) at the 4. He was great against UCONN, which had some of the best big men in the country.
So he can play down there, but I think he's better suited at the 3.
The only thing is: are our 4s gonna step up? If Sheray and Perry Stevenson come along, then Bobby won't have to play the 4.
I don't expect Bobby Perry to be a star, but I think he can be a reliable third or fourth option. The key to Bobby Perry's success, imo will be defenses having to focus on Morris and Crawford, and to a lesser extent Bradley.
In the tourney, I thought that Perry relished his role as the forgotten man. If he continues to play with a little chip on his shoulder, he should be fine. Frankly, nobody is going to come into a game with Kentucky with "Stop Bobby Perry" being their number one key for victory.
