I was just wondering how many players kentucky lose this year and is any of them play key positions?

The biggest loss at the end of this season will be:

M. McCutchan - center

some other notable losses, but not as big due to the depth at the positions are:

D. White - defensive end

L. Mills - defensive tackle

This is taking in consideration that everyone returns, and someone like Burton doesn't decide to turn Pro.

By my count which should be pretty close, these players are in their final year of eligibility:

Rocco Maragas - QB
Terrell Bankhead - FB
Fatu Turituri - G
Matt McCutchan - C
Travis Slaydon - C
Mike Aitcheson - G/T
Trai Williams - C/G
Hayden Lane - T
Durrell White - DE
Lamar Mills - DT
Karl Booker - CB
Timothy Hargrett - CB
Kris Kessler - P
Jason Dickerson - SN

We will lose a few more through normal attrition.

I think the defense can be REALLY GOOD next season. Besides the two defensive linemenmentioned, we also lose starting cornerback Karl Booker. TheGOOD "news" is that we have lots ofyoung talent inthose areas, especially on the defensive line.

At the skilledpositions on offense we only lose backup fullback TerrellBankhead, which isEXCELLENT "news." There is some VERY BAD"news," though,.Unfortunately, we lose far more than McCutchan on the offensive line, and it all starts in the trenches. :(

Wemust have a strong offensive line to protect Woodson and open holes for our talented running backs.Besides McCutchan, we lose Michael Aitcheson, Fatu Turituri, Trai Williams, and Hayden Lane, all of whom start or have started a lot of games (plus backupcenter Travis Slaydon, unless he is granted a medical redshirt). To make it blunter, only Christian Johnson, Garry Williams, and James Alexander return from the two-deep chart--that's THREE offensive linemen, folks. We had thought we would have ALL SEC Freshman Team member Aaron Miller (who left because of academics and COULD return, but after missing two whole seasons of football, AND Micah Jones, (who is suffering from a bad back and will have also missed two whole seasons of football, even if he returns), butthat, according to some, is not looking too likely at this team.

In other words, things really look VERY ROSY in that regard EXCEPT on the offensive line.

Scholarship returnees - not counting Miller and assuming no losses to attrition.

I want to shake your hand for being one of the few, the brave Wildcatnation posters who can spell the word "lose".

Congratulations, you've earned it.
