Does anyone know where I can find out how to make animated fireworks in Photoshop 7.0. I have searched a few site but haven't been able to come up with anything. So I was wondering if one of you guys would know where there is a good tutorial on how to make animated fireworks. Of course if one of you knows how to make it and have the time to write a tutorial on it that would be great also. The one problem is I need to work on my project this weekend so I would need it before saturday.

I don't know how much experience you have and you may already know all this but you can't do it in Photoshop alone. Although Photoshop is a great software to manipulate the layers, you also need "Adobe ImageReady". That is Adobe's premier animation software.
When you open a file containing an animation in Photoshop, only the frame that was selected when you saved the file in ImageReady is displayed. Youcannot edit the animation frames separately, play the animation, or save the animation as an animated GIF.
If you add a new layer to the file while in Photoshop, the layer is added to all frames of the animation. However, the new layer will only appear in the selected frame when you reopen the file in ImageReady. If you change the stacking order of layers while in Photoshop, the stacking order of layers will be changed when you reopen the file in ImageReady.

In Photoshop, create an image you want to animate. Include a single layer for each static element. Create multiple layers for moving elements. Each layer for a moving element should represent its position at a different point in time.
Save the file, and choose File > Edit in ImageReady. The ImageReady application opens and displays the image.
Click the Animation tab to bring the Animation palette to the front or, if the palette isn't open, choose Window > Animation. ImageReady creates the first frame of the animation.
Click the Layers tab to bring the Layers palette to the front or, if the palette isn't open, choose Window > Layers. Arrange the Layers palette and the Animation palette so that you can view at least some of the document window and both palettes.
In the Layers palette, make sure the correct layers are visible and hidden for this first frame. Click the eye icon file:///C:/Program%20Files/Adobe/Photoshop%20CS/Help/images/P_Visibility_Sm_N.gif to hide a layer or the empty eye column to show a layer.
Click the Duplicate Animation Frame button file:///C:/Program%20Files/Adobe/Photoshop%20CS/Help/images/P_New_Wi_N.gif at the bottom of the Animation palette to add the next frame. In the Layers palette, adjust the visibility of layers as needed for this frame. Continue to add new frames and hide or show their layers as appropriate.
When you have created all of the animation frames, click the Play button file:///C:/Program%20Files/Adobe/Photoshop%20CS/Help/images/P_Next_Sm_N.gif at the bottom of the Animation palette to preview the animation. Click the Stop button file:///C:/Program%20Files/Adobe/Photoshop%20CS/Help/images/P_Stop_Wi_N.gif to stop it.
If the animation is moving too quickly, select a specific frame whose display time you want to adjust, or select all the frames to change their display time uniformly. Then, click the arrow next to 0 sec. at the bottom of a selected frame, and choose the desired time from the pop-up menu.
To set how many times the animation loops, choose Other from the pop-up menu on the bottom left-corner of the Animation palette (it defaults to Forever). Enter a value for Play, and click OK.
When you are satisfied with the animation, save the file. It is important to first save the file using the Photoshop format. The Photoshop format preserves all components of the button and allows you to make changes later if necessary. Once you have saved it as a PSD file, you can optimize the animation for the Web and save it in the GIF format, the format needed to display the animation on the Web.

I've looked and looked and can't find a tutorial specifically for fireworks. I'm sure there's one somewhere if you just keep searching.
Here are some tutorials that will get you familiar with ImageReady:

Blue_Knight thank you for your efforts and sorry I should have saved you some trouble and mentioned that I do have Photoshop 7.0 & Imageready I just for some reason lump them together. I'm not to bad with Photoshop but I'm still learning everytime I use it. I would show you some of my work but since you are a UK fan you probably wouldn't like them very much :(. I do want to say some of you do an awsome job in making the sigs for the members here on your site.

to be quite honest i dont think its possible to get quality looking fireworks from imageready or photoshop! try Macromedia's Flash program, i got that and flash is the way to go in means of animations. but if you can prove me wrong, please let me in on the secret.

GrandpaBrooks, I'm always a fan of good art work. It wouldn't bother me too much but I'm not so sure about others on here. Some of these guys, well...you would ratherslap their mama than to put down theWildcats.I could tell bythe location under your screen name (LESSington) that you probablyweren't much of a UK fan. Just don't tell me you're a fan of LOSERville.
Oh....here's some artwork for ya. Done with a little cheap software called Serif. But Kauffman is right on. Flash is top shelf software with movie like quality.
