The game is 37 seconds from being over and here is my take. In the first half we looked like we had a pretty decent game plan. Our guys should have gone in at halftime with a lead but the prevent defense cost us the lead. However, a good performance by Woodson and Co. in the first half. We held Florida to 12 points and had a really good performance.

The second half was all Florida. They made some really good adjustments and were able to get a lot of pressure on Woodson and make it very difficult for us to move the football. Defensively, we gave up too many yards and allowed too many third down conversions. I don't understand Archer's philosophy. We came up with a couple of turnovers but were really unable to capitalize. We still remain last in the SEC in total yards allowed in a game.

I'm seeing some improvement in this football team. Offensively, I'm not disappointed in the strides we've made. We were able to move the football in the first half and looked very respectable. Defensively, we still have a long way to go. I think Archer is wrong for this team. He hasn't really showed much improvement. We held the Gators to 26 points but gave up 492 total yards - - 212 came on the ground. I understand that we were playing an opponent with superior talent and speed. However, you have to stop the run to win football games. We continue to struggle at stopping anybody from running the football. We miss tackles at an alarming rate. It's plain and simple. Our guys play very hard and bring a lot of passion to the field but defensively we just don't have it. I know, we're young. Something's got to give, though. If we'd put together a solid defensive game we'd stand a chance at winning these type of games.

I know it was Florida, but I was VERY disappointed by our O line in the 2nd half. Woodson, for the most part, had all day to throw in the 1st half. You knew Florida was going to make adjustments. Obviously, someone forgot to point that out to our guys. I did like the effort though. However, we had a few personal fouls that absolutely killed us. You can't have those aginst a team like the Gators and you being Kentucky. We are going to upset someone this year

Seemed to me that Joker did make adjustments, and the adjustments were the problem. I thought he should have just kept doing all the little things that were slowing down Florida's DL in the first half, the Mumme-style five yard passes and such. Instead, Woodson started trying to throw deeper downfield, a lot of times withouteither the backs or TE being kept in pass protection, and Florida's DL just wasn't givingtime to do it.

This was exactly my opinion (that I made well know in the in game chat :)) about the game too. I think that Joker tried to over-coach in anticipating what changes that Florida would make. He should have just kept going with what worked until they stopped it and THEN try to mix it up.
