Why did we not attempt torun the ballmore tonight? I know Little was out, but Dixon is proven and I believe Smith is the real deal. Don't get me wrong, I love that we are passing more. But we weren't behind by enough to turn to the all out pass offense until the 4th quarter. From yahoo stats it looks like our percentage was about70% pass tonight. They were blitzing our subpar line every play because they knew we were gona pass. This isnt a bashing post. I think we are making huge strides. Just really wana know why.

There was no way we were going to run effectively against them. Little was out and Dixon hurt his shin. The offensive game plan in the 1st half was brilliant, IMO. No huddle...control passes....throw in a run or 2 to keep all parties honest.
The 2nd half, we looked more conservative. However, Florida made great defensive adjustments as well. Their D-Line took over the game ...their offense went to work on our "great" REACT ONLY defense Archer runs.
We were beat by a much superior team....period.
The day we decide to take defense seriously is the day we will be competitive in the SEC. Until then, we will just manage to win a game herea and there.

UT tried to establish the run against Florida the week before and ended up -10 yards rushing for the game. I was very pleasantly surprised that Joker did not waste his normal several possessions futilely trying to run the ball off tackle. Second game in a row he has avoided that.He is showing growth in his craft since last year, when he way too often wasted possession after possession in the first half trying to establish the run against teams UK just wasn't capable of running against. UK's running plays work a whole lot better when the other team is worried about the pass instead of loading up thebox to stop the run.
