I've been voting for the Wildcat, but if we can't win I'm for the U.S. Military first, and WKU Big Red second. Or vice versa.

We're still down over 500. The Vols must be flooding the site today. Besides the fact that I hate the Big Orange, their mascot is just plain ugly. Vot, Cat fans!

Ok, I've seen voting situations like this across the Net for years and something struck me as odd about this one, and until just now, I couldn't put my finger on it. Now... there's no way that this many races, six, would be this close. Except for the Air Force/Syracuse race, all are within ~1000 votes of each other. That's very unlikely. Our statistically minded friend DCWildcat should voice his opinion here.

It's because you are required to vote in every race.

How are you voting for the non UK-UT races? You are probablyrandom withyour voting each time. So, all the people who are voting for the other races and have no preference in the UK-UT race are randomly choosing in our race. Thus, with the exception of the UK and UT fans, the votes are being split50%-50%. The exception to this rule will be Air Force, who are getting a high number of "Patriotic" votes. Air Force will win every one of their matches because of this.

If you weren't required to vote in each race, as it should be, the results would definitely be different.

And we're down early. Shocker.

It is stupid that you have to vote in every one. But keep voting! Lets win this one too!

Just noticed something. In EVERY matchup that is there right now, whichever choice is on the left is winning. Thatwould lead me to believethat most of the "random" voting is going to the school whose mascot is on the left in the matchups. What a stupid way to do it.

That makes sense. I see what you're saying. I have been voting in each contest, always for the team doing the worst in the overall standings.
