Wildcats Dominate IUPUI

Freshman point guard Carly Ormerod scored a career-high 17 points Friday in her first collegiate contest and Kentucky won its season opener for the eighth consecutive year with a 81-52 victory over IUPUI in Memorial Coliseum.

Ormerod was one of four Wildcats in double figures, as sophomore forward/center Eleia Roddy finished with a career-high 11 points and 12 rebounds for her first career double-double The Wildcats shot 48.4 percent from the field in the game.

Sarah Elliot only played 7 minutes? How is her health? She is going to be key to our season...hope it was only a case of playing an over matched opponent

Thats the first thing I noticed from the stat sheet. I'll see what I can find out, but maybe one of our members that attended could tell us.

Sarah Elliott tweaked her still healing knee in a shoot-around this afternoon. DeMoss said the 6-foot-6 center was checked out and cleared to play, but once UK took its lead, the coach decided not to risk it. Elliott played just seven minutes.
