Congrats to Tony Stewart.
I've only been watching NASCAR for a couple of years, and the more I watch him, the more I like him. I know he's had some issues in the past, but it seems to me that he's got his head on straight, and I'm happy for him.
Here's looking to Daytona in Feb!
Hey, DenCat! We up for SpeedWeeks?

I'm up for it, but I don't think Momma will let me go, especially since the SEC tourney is right around the corner. "Smoke" should certainly be a favorite come February.

Good point. Didn't even think about that.
Well, I could win the lottery between now and then, and then I won't have to worry about it.....LOL

Man was I pulling for Carl to catch "Smoke". Never have been and never will be a Stewart fan and don't like Johnson either..lol....Look for the 20,24,99 and 17 to battle for the championship next season.

He's got a great race team and is a talented driver. And I wouldn't be suprised to see Martin back up there next year as well.

I really like Carl Edwards. (Hey, he's dating Amanda Beard......) I think he's going to be good for a long time to come.
I think I'm a little lucky in some respects, as even though I wasn't a NASCAR gan until the last couple of years, I hear all the talk about people hating Jeff Gordon, and I don't see it. To me, seems like he's a great driver, great representative of the sport, and a good guy, for all intents and purposes. (Keeps his nose clean, I mean. He could be an incredible jerk.)
As I'm sorting all this out for myself, I'd say I don't have a "driver", so to speak, but I'm bored before the UK game, and in no particular order, here's who I like and don't:
Drivers I like:
Rusty Wallace, Mark Martin, Kasey Kahne, Michael Waltrip, Matt Kenseth, Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Jeff Burton, Elliot Sadler, Jamie McMurry, Ken Schrader, Dale Jarrett, Carl Edwards, Kenny Wallace, Terry Labonte, and Jimmy Spencer
Drivers I detest:
Robby Gordon, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Ryan Newman, Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch
So there you go: Have fun with it. :D

I would have to take Jimmy Spencer off the like list. I think he is a royal ***.
I like Dale Jr, I just think he has a lot of fans because of Dale Sr. It has to be a ton of pressure being the Intimidator's son. I also like Ryan Newman.

I ran into Robby Gordon yesterday in Huntersville Starbucks. Told him he had a good year considering his engine issues. Was very friendly and appreciated the support. Never been a fan if his, but he was cool to talkto for a couple of minutes. Said Stewart is the best pure driver other than him on the circuit. Robby may have had a bad year, but the dude can drive anything with wheels.

as a long time fan of nascar, i personally think Jimmie Johnson should be champion this year, but a string of bad luck hurt him.

Alot of the people that don't like Jeff and spread the rumors are Earnhardt fans or fans just upset that he has so much already. If Jeff gets 8 championships the Earnhardt Nation will be spreading all kinds of trash.
Drivers I Like:
Carl Edwards, Jeff Gordon, Dave Blaney, Brendan Gaughan, Sterling Marlin and Matt Kenseth
Drivers I detest:
Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, Jamie Mc Murray, Rusty Wallace, Robby Gordon, Micheal Waltrip
I don't detest Jr., but I can't stand how the media drools over him and tries to make him one of the best drivers in Nascar.
