See the Roy Hurst post for news on his visit.

Also, this was in today's AJC:

KENTUCKY Wildcats (3-3, 1-2)

The Wildcats hosted LaGrange defensive lineman D.J. Stafford this past weekend. "While I was there, I was able to tour the campus and do some stuff like that," Stafford said. "I also hung out with my former teammate Wesley Woodyard, who was my host. It was fine with him; he just talked to me about the school, and that was good." ... Stafford's high school teammate, cornerback Randall Burden, also made a visit to UK and returned with the 'Cats as his clear favorite. The 6-foot-2, 165-pounder currently does not hold any major scholarship offers.

> Next: Saturday at LSU, 8 p.m.

I listened to Jeff Drummond on the Cats' Pause Show last night. He said the visits went well for both young men and also for a couple of junior college recruits that visited. He basically said the recruits seemed VERY IMPRESSED, including being impressed with the crowd (and, no, he did not mention many fans' giving up and leaving early). As I listened to him, I just thought how much more impressed they would have been if only that last pass play had been a completion and the game had gone into overtime andeventually been a victory for the Cats. :(

As most know, Stafford is a highly ranked defensive end, number eleven in the nation, I believe. As Drummond said, we could obviously use some depth at that poistion (and starting defensive end Durrell White will be graduating).

Update on D.J. He was scheduled to make his visit to Auburn last weekend. If he went, he saw an ill-prepared Tiger team!

Let's hope he did go, PeachtreeCat. :)Too, I have specifically been thinking about DJ as our team has been doing well, specifically its defeating Georgia this season. Wesley Woodyard, Braxton Kelley, and DeMoreo Ford are hopefully all helpingDJ to decide to come to UK. A HUGE positive for UK footballis that it is nowa FAMILY, according to the players.

That atmosphere and respect for the coaches, plus wins and potential playing time, will hopefully help to lure Mr. Staffford to UK. The young man would be a HUGE commitment for UK. :)
