video editing

is anyone here into video editing of any kind? if so id like to get some threads going, possibly some trades on secrets, techniques? also if anyone has any info on the legal's behind possibly making a 'uk fan' documentary? i have an idea to make one, taping fans from lex,loserville,cincinnati,eku,xavier,local high schools....brainstorming here, but im sure with someones help it can happen.....also i know im not allowed to go into rupp and videotape a game...but does anyone know if i can walk through the museum and record? i know lastyear they let me take pics, but never thought to ask about video. I'm not even sure if its legal for me to do it, but if my team can make one about the corrupt police dept. in hamilton, ohio i'm sure its possible...............PM me

I do some flash web design and video editing using Director 7. It's a Macromedia program. I would love to get in on some video.

well looks like this ones going to have to wait until the first of the year........ i was awoke at 9:15am this morning to my 2yr old boy standing in front of me with what i thought was...well, actually I had no idea whatI thought itwas. I wasnt thinking anything about it really...until I go into the kitchen where my wife plugged in the camcorder lastnight to charge...and guess what....yeah, my 2yr old knocks it off the counter and shatters it. he had a peice of it playing with it....or maybe he came to tell me what he did? not sure yet, mad...but what can you do?! im sure he's going to break more than just a camcorder in his life.....tax time is just around the corner...storyboard and brainstorming until then....



couple of ideas:

1. documentary of how devoted cat fans are

2. document other schools fans hatred for uk

3. actual independent film (sort of ) Herold and Kumar goes to whitecastle...... [_____&______ go to a cats game? something of the sort.



but here within the next couple of months, hopefully by mid-jan i can get my lawyer to contact the guy who you guys said needed to be contacted. of course i really dont see uk letting this happen, but if not...they cant stop me from going around lex,cincy,louisville,dayton,and other local schools city's to get opinions on the basketball programs.....

basically the same rules apply that did for the t-shirt, to any documentary made for use of public disbursment....IF I plan to make money from it!.....nothing with the logos, no old/current players, no identifyable buildings monuments, no coaches, no one affiliated with uk.... so in more words than it needed to be....there is no way anyone can make a quality documentary based on uk wildcats. they could have just said no, i would have believed them......but i did speak with a lawyer today who said that i could make the movie, and if i decided to make money off of it, i'd have to do something like the thread on 'ebay cheaters' said....basically sell pencils (anything) and give the dvd away for free with every order. he said its risky that they could try to sue, if i made bookoo money off of it, but it is not against the law in OHIO to pull such a slimey trick. if things go as planned i will get that from him in writing and hire him on a pre-pay attourney contract. basically if i pay him for services up-front, i can list him as my lawyer to anyone and if anything was to come up, id be top priority.....has anyone else heard of such a thing? he was saying its a normal thing....but of course he is a lawyer....so you know how that goes....sorry if i offend anyone who is/was/going to be a lawyer....nothing personal. but IMO their job is to lie, so whos to say he isnt lying to me?
