"Dave Hunt coaches football players so humiliated that they dread walking through the halls of Burch High School in West Virginia. Two of them thought about quitting last week. The rest considered starting a fight. "They want to get even," Hunt said, "because what happened to them is so unfair."

I believe this is bush leage. The coach is up by 42 points in the third quarter, keeps the offense in a no huddle, and lets punts hit the ground and roll so one of his players can set the national rushing record. I hope Karma sets in soon for him.

High school records are absolutely meaningless (single game records even more so) because the level of competition can be so lopsided some times. Honestly, if I had been the opposing coach I probably would have told all 11 on defense, to hell with ANYONE else, go after their running back whether he had the ball or not. Or maybe had one of my guys run out of bounds bowling over the opposing coach.

I don't have a problem with lopsided scores. If you put in your 3rd (or even 4th) string and they continue to ring up the scoreboard then so be it. Those guys don't get the PT much and you can't expect them to not go all out. But to keep starters in and just grind another teams face in it (especially at HS level) is wrong. It's one thing if it is a rivalry and you want to win by 25-30 to make a point, but to pound an obviously inferior team with your starters for the whole game is pathetic. Lucky for that coach that a few of the opposing players didn't decide to start taking out knees in the 2nd half.
