The freshman leads UK with 6 pass breakups this year. Soph McClinton has 4.
UK would be much better against the pass had Lindley been matched with Bo Smith at CB. Smith not remaining eligible really hurt the Cats in the defensive backfield.
The good news: Lindley is going to be a good one.

The good news is indeed that Lindley "is going to be a good one." :)
Missing Bo Smith, though, is not only hurting the defensive backfield, but the entire defense, I suspect. If Bo were here, maybe some of our defensive schemes would be different. I'm just basing that on coaches' comments that they are protecting our young secondary.

Just think how much better he may be if he has a good coaching staff. Maybe this time next year that will have happened. Let's all join together and pray that it will.

Actually, from teaching literature, especially the story "The Monkey's Paw," I know to be careful even to wish for anything. :(Also, although I'm very tempted to pray for wins in sports, I make myself not do that, althoughI do pray for players to stay healthy. My prayer list right nowis, unfortunately, already way too long.
Personally, I would especiallyNOT pray that we have another coaching staff next year. That would be praying for this team TO LOSE GAMES. :(Never! Also, I feel sure the statement was not meant to be taken literally. Even the thought to pray for this team to lose games, though, just did not work at all for me. :(
I much prefer Dicky Lyons, Jr.'s attitude in the radio interview after the game. Dicky said the team CAN GO UNDEFEATED the rest of the season. That is how the players are thinking. Good for them! Sure, that is highly unlikely to happen. The team will be lucky to win ONE more game if it plays like it did Saturday night. :(YET, the most difficult team on the schedule is now past us, and, hopefully, some injured players, the defensive linemen AND Rafael Little, will return to make a difference.
If I did believe in praying about sports, though, I would be praying for OUR DEFENSE TO IMPROVE GREATLY. That's for sure. :D

The Good Lord probably has more to do than worry about our sorry defense so I will save my prayers.
But honestly, i would like to see what our excellent young talent could do with better coaching. It is a shame they are not getting it. -

I had actually thought that He has a lot more to do, but I had not wanted to say it that way. :D
