I am so tired of seeing bad football. While I didn't think we'd win, I thought we would at least show up and play with some fire. This reminds me of the IU game last year.

Where's the motivation? Why can't we tackle ANYBODY? Why does our pursuit always make us overrun the ball carrier? Why are we still arm tackling? Geesh!!!

I am starting to think that Pulley needs to concentrate on his QB duties and forget about being a WR. He dropped two easily catchable balls on that series right at the end of the thrid quarter, either of which could have been a TD.

Lastly, why did I pay to watch this shi*?????

70 total yards of offense. Has Pulley played QB tonight?

Largest deficit...so far...in the Rich Brooks era. 49-0 so far.

Yep...we are improving. ;)

The South Carolina game took a lot of starch out of my sails, and sadly it appears it may have had the same effect on the team. No way I thought we'd win, but no way I thought it would be this bad, and with what sounds (on the radio at least) like so little fire. Maybe I'll feel differently after a few days, but right now I wouldn't give you a plug nickel for the chances of this team getting to 6 wins.. . . maybe not 5. . . . .

You reflect my feelings. I don't see six wins and if we do win six, they may be against 6 teams without winning records. I doubt that would get us a bowl.

I have watched Vandy a few times this year. No way they are a sure win for us.

A 49-0 loss will not look good on our bowl game resume

But remember, that South Carolina game was a bonus game!

But remember, that South Carolina game was a bonus game! That's right! We didn't really need that one because we're SURE to beat a team like Vandy... They only beat a ranked team today, and their coach is capable of motivating them.

You know, I have always supported this staff, and I have always thought, lets get this probation stuff behind us, so I have tried to be patient. But my patience is wearing really thin.

I am certainly not proud in wishing for someone to lose their job, because Karma is a strange thing (for those of you who are "My Name is Earl" fans :D)

BUT...I think this game has finally pushed me tojoin those calling for Archer's job. Yes, we have had some injuries, but I think our basic scheme is flawed. All we heard in the pre-season is we were more talented, more physical, and bigger and faster. While those points are true, those players are not being taught fundamentally sound football on the defensive side of the ball.

Players out of position. Arm tackling. Poor pursuit. No containment. Not being prepared. Just getting physically whipped.

And I have never understood why Archer is not upstairs with Joker. I think something can be said about seeing things from the pressbox. I just think you can see what your opponent is doingbetter from the pressbox, than from the sidelines.

Yes, the players have to bear some of the burden or responsibility as well, but ultimately it is the coaches who are responsible.

We need a better DC, and it wouldn't be too soon to start the search on Monday. I like Petri, Smith and Brown, and I think they should be retained. But the defensive scheme is Archer's responsibility, and I finally see it's just not working.

I can't believe my eyes... people are calling for Archer's head.... what about the guy above him? Where is Brooks in this picture? The whole group should go!

I think Archer is Brooks last card to play. Fire him to save himself. Scary thought. But, if it improves the defense, I'm all for it, at least in the short term.

The reason that I don't say fire the entire staff, because (and we discussed this last week at the tailgate) is that everytime Coach Brooks has had a vacancy to fill, he has hit a home run in naming the replacement.Examples?

Michael Gray-replaced with Rick Petri.

Paul Dunn-replaced with Jimmy Heggins.

Ron McBride-Chuck Smith (granted a big chance on a high school coach)

Ron Hudson-relaced with Joker Phillips (granted this was not as big as the others, because they came from outside of the system, and came from historically winning programs)

Kurt Roper-replaced with Randy Sanders.

You can also see the influence that Sanders has had on Andre, and our offense is way improved over Hudson's. But out achilles heel is the defense, and I think it's our scheme. We need a new scheme that can keep us in a game.

See problem is, you're not a true fan if you want Brooks gone, it's all a bunch of bunk if you ask me. Brooks has not done one thing to show me that he deserves anymore time. What happened last night should be the last straw for every UK fan, there is no excuse for last nights performance, none at all.:thumbdown

Since we are talking defensive schemes adn technique in this post I would like to add some observations after watching tapes of the games this year.

Has anyone else noticed that the defensive players seem to engage the would be blockers instead of shedding them and going to the ball...it almost seems our guys are told to engage the blockers and stick with them until they see where the play is going, which by then is tooooooo late and the guy with the ball is speeding past them while they try and get off the blocker.

Maybe our OLine and DLine need to switch places because our OLine cant stick with anybody in their face
