But these guys have yet to beat a quality opponent.
Folks, even if we back into a bowl game by some miracle.....changes still need to be made.
My friends, there is being beaten by a superior team and then there is being treated like a $10 street walker.

Bald, this is the kind of game that causes this team to crumble, I don't see how they (or any team for that matter) can get up off the canvas for another round. I believe this team packed it in for the season last night. I think they just flat gave up.

I think they officially packed it in last night but I think the packing actually started during the bonus game as our fearless leader called the South Carolina game.
That was a game they should have made a statement they were arriving as a football team. They should have busted their butt to win that game. But no, we let South Carolina march down the field and seize control of the game and played catch up the rest of the night. When we finally woke up we had to go to desperation mode and everyone got excited that we scored in the fourth quarter.
It was fools gold.
I agree with Baldcat, and even if we win all the rest of them I want a new coaching staff when spring ball starts. I'm afraid if we do not make a change we are going to be mighty lonely sitting in the stands of Commonwealth. The crowds will be as scarce as hen's teeth.

Last night's performance was embarrassing. In contrast, our players were FIRED UP for that South Carolina game. Perhaps they were too fired up. Perhaps that is why they dropped an early interception that would have potentially had a great effect on that game. Perhaps that is why they overran the fumbled punt. Perhaps that is why they dropped some passes, turning to go down field before they dropped the ball.
As many have posted and as the Cats' Pause writers so effectively covered, UK squandered so many opportunities that game, and those squandered opportunities were the story of the loss.
Instead of not trying hard enough to just win that "bonus game" (and Coach Brooks was trying to gethis players back up AFTER they were so devastated about that loss), they were perhaps trying too hard. Regardless, I know how FIREDUP they were, for I witnessed it, alongwith many others here, atthe Cat Walk. It was great. Itwas unreal.
The offensive players had put in an extra night of studying film. I suppose that's because Coach Brooks had told the playersBEFORE the game thatthe South Carolina game was ONLY a "bonus game."NOT!
Come on, folks. We're all disappointed. It doesn't have tobe made into something worse than itreally is, though. Webarely lost ONE game to South Carolina. We thenwent toLSU undermanned andprobably not believing we would win, and we totally STUNK IT UP.
I felt much more down after the South Carolina loss, because we could have so easily won the game and been ingood shape(and not hear all the Spurrier is the greatest talk, which might have been out the window if only one or two plays had gone differently). This time I am just embarrassed about our performance, and I thinkcoaches and players alike performed poorly. I am not down about the loss itself, for it hadbeen mostly expected and does not affect our bowl chances at all.Further, if our team's performance doesn't change, the coaching situation will take care of itself.
Meanwhile I am just concerned that we bounceback and BEATMSU.We must certainly perform much better than last night to beat MSU. Ithonestly seems to me that all UK fansshould be worrying most about that right now,if they want a bowl game for these players (and us fans!) ANDfor this football program to go forward, which I assume is the case.
