20-14.

Russell should have been up 35-0 at the half. Fumbled on the goal line they said, which I don't thing he did, on an 80 bootleg.

Tried to pass for a TD with 13 seconds left inthe first half and loss big with the ball on the 1.

Glad to see my boys head back to state for the first time in 27 years.

Owensboro Catholic beat DeSales in AA action 28-7. DeSales had a great season, most wins in school history and thefarthest they had been in the playoffs sincewe lost in the 4A tiltle game to Henry Clay in 1981.

I am hoping my alma mater Newport Central Catholic can finally finish out the season. So close and oh so far for years now.

Regardless of what anyone may say Phillip Haywood is one of the best football coaches in the state of Kentucky. He has made a real program at Belfry after he went there from Prestonsburg in the 1970's. Haywood was certainly in the state championship last year along with his Belfry Pirates. Haywood certainly has nothing to be embarrassed about.

Pond Creek can be very proud of the Pirates. They have played good football for years and one of the very best from Belfry, Rick Kestner, has his name hanging from the top of the stadium. He was a great, great football player.

Coach Haywood is a very good football coach
