They scored 3!!!!!!! points on offense and WON!!!! I realize that is the NFL and this is college, but games like that show you that if you have a great defense no matter how bad your offense is playing you can stay in the game. It's also why some on this board (like me) are harping about building up the defense first and not worrying that our offense has put up a couple stinkers.

Oh and by the way, didn't that ending just remind you of a Kentucky game? Cardinal fans (arizona cards only please :-) and Cat fans should get together.... oh the stories of ineptitude we could share.

I should also add that not only did the Bears offense stink up the joint in not being able to score, they also turned it over 6 TIMES!!!! and yet the D pulled them through it. That's what a great defense does.

E. James has a record now that I'm sure he doesn't want to be associated with.

36 carries for 55 yards for an average of 1.5 yards per carry

That is the most carries for the fewest yards ever.

Sadly, it did, Mr. T. :(How many times we have sat in Commonwealth and watched similar happenings! That simply MUST change.

Long before the eventual outcome, merely as the Bears were making a comeback, an announcer mentioned a sense in the stadium--and among the Arizona players--of "impending doom." That made me think back to the Florida game when UK hadled by18 pointsgoing into the fourth quarter and Commonwealth became so quiet as Florida started coming back. Even Coach Brooks mentioned that he had sensed something on his sidelines, along with the noticeable difference in the crowd. It's having experienced loss of leads and heartbreaking endings of potential upsets that seems to get into the brain of UK players and fans alike. I felt for Arizona because we have been there so many times. We simply MUST believe.

Yes, it was incredible how Chicago came back to win without offense, only with itsDEFENSE and special teams. Actually, of course, our defense's ability to force turnovers had been our strength. Unfortunately for UK, the past two games we have not even excelled in that area. :(Our defense, period, of course, simply MUST change in effectiveness.

The big thing was they caused turnovers AND got stops (such as the one leading to the punt return TD) WHEN THEY NEEDED THEM. We have caused a few turnovers (or just had the opponent drop the ball all by themselves more often than not) but we can't just get a stop ESPECIALLY when we have to have it.

Last night as I watched the game and thought to myself "I know how you feel." I told some co workers today that the Arizona Cardinals are the pro team of our college team. And I really meant it. Now hopefully our coach will FIRE our DC instead of OC and make a fool of himself at a press meeting.
