I think I've got a good inkling as to a couple of the girlie girl members here (CATHYnKY, UKChic), but wondered who else was. Didn't know if you gals did anything special asa group, or just came here to share your love for the Cats. The boys all talk about their cigars, hunting, fishing...what are our interests? Just opening it up for discussion! :)

I'm here also.:D Of course I love our Wildcats, but I do have a few other interest.
At the moment, my sons take up most of my spare time. My youngest just graduated from WKU, and is getting married in September. The oldest has a new business in Kuttawa, and is about to give me my first grandchild in September as well. Tiz been an exciting year for our family.

Unfortunately, one of my favorite pass times is cooking. I collect cookbooks and cook things in them! NOT gourmet. Southern, down home cooking is my thing. I also do the Italian and Mexican thing too. My hubby is Italian. And, oh yes. A big UL fan and can't stand UK. But he definitely knows where my priority is. The unfortunate part is that I eat what I cook:(and have unwanted pounds. Lots of them
Some of gals here know each other personally. UKChic lives near me. Another WCF member, POEKLM, is my traveling buddy. I have also attended UK games with bleedbluelady and have visited Poodoo house at Lk Barkley when we make our yearly trip there. You'll hear plenty from the WCF ladies once they get on board.

Cathy, let me know next time you come to Lake Barkley. My son has a boat shop in Kuttawa and I work for him there. Maybe we could meet up for lunch or something and have Poodoo meet us as well. I'd like to meet both of you.
I guess CurlyCat and catfanshan are my closest female friends online. BTW, I'll make sure they find their way over here. The 3 of us have had some pretty fun times together over the years.

MissKitty
We always come in October. Not sure what weekend it is. We get there Thursday evening and stay until Sunday. I'll be sure and give you a shout. Poodoo is way too much fun. She and her husband came to the lodge in a fishing boat to take me to her house. You can see the chimneys of the lodge from her dock. You should try and catch up with her sometime. She'll be here soon, I hope.
MissKitty
06-03-2005, 09:37 AM
Do you happen to have her email addy? I've already sent catfanshan a note telling her where everyone is. I'll catch Curly when she gets on MSN, although I don't know when that will be, she's been pretty busy lately.

Cathy, I'm a 'cooker' as well...maybe we can bake cookies for the team sometime! ha ha Hope to have many good times here at our new 'home'...with the girls and guys. Always nice to hear from other gals who love sports, especially the Cats!

Actually ladies, welcome aboard! I also love to cook myself.

zonetoncatfan,
Well, first, I am a UK fan. :P
Next, I like to spend time with my family and friends (even though my in-laws are ul fans - blah!)
I do love to travel and leave for the beach in 4 weeks and 2 days (no count down going on here - ha!)
I have gotten together with Cathy & Marsha (POEKLM) a few times through out the year and Cathy lives practically in my back yard so I am thinking a cookout should be in order before summer's end.
I think often of having a UK party for those to meet & greet. Maybe this year is the year for it!

Greetings, all! I was truebluegalintn on WCF--just got tired of the name.
Anyway, I've been a devoted Cat follower since the 1991-92 season. The UK/Duke game cinched it for me. Never met anyone off WCF since I'm in Nashville and don't have a lot of spare time to make it to games and gatherings. Working full-time and having a hubby to spoil takes a lot of time. :) I do enjoy bowling and good friendship (and food!) when my life allows for it. My hubby and I have the roles reversed--I'm the avid basketball fan, but he's more likely to go find something to clean! We plan on getting together with some other UK alumni down here next Friday night.
I do have a lot of Kentucky ties, though, don't get me wrong. I'm a Louisville native, UK graduate, and my hubby's family is from Hopkinsville. We make it up to our glorious Bluegrass State fairly often.

Hi ladies! My name is Katie. I am a GATOR fan first, but always a UK fan as well, unless they are playing the Gators! :)
I attend the University of Florida where I am studying English and
Secondary Education. Right now I am home in Orlando for the summer,
working and keeping my mom company.
I became a UK fan when I started dating UKJoey36. We've been together
for about 2 years now and are in the works of getting a place of our
own in Gainesville next year. Of course, I will want to decorate with
my Gator things and he will want to bring all of his UK stuff! I love
reading, baking, and going to the beach. I'm also a big movie watcher.
Just want to thank all of you for being so welcoming. Hopefully Joey
and I will be back in Kentucky in the fall for the game and we'll all
get to meet.

We actually used to work together. It's pretty funny when we go to
games. People look at us like we're insane. It's like those ESPN
commericals they used to play: "Without sports, this wouldn't be
disgusting!"
That's not saying we don't have our arguments. Last year I stormed off
at the end of the basketball game in Gainesville. I lost him in the
crowd. He thought it was pretty funny... :)

Heck, I got my revenge when we won at home. The tourney was definitely
awesome, just an added bonus! He will be attending UF next year. Right
now he's working on finishing up his AA. Joey's a few years older than
me, he's coming back to school whereas I've been at UF for several
years now out of high school.

Another Wildcat Lady here. I have a lot of interests, travel is one. Calsegs and I (and hopefully BleedBlueLady :)) plan tomeet up in San Francisco within the next year. Anyone else interested, let us know. Like everyone else, Ilove the Cats. I don't know enough about the game to discuss details like some can, but watching men's Wildcat basketball is one of my very favorite things to do. I just quit my job, myhusband agreed withme that ithad to go becausemy schedule wasinterfering with the SEC tournament ;). My kids are another interest, of course! They are 26, 23, and 12. My oldest daughter is in grad school, my son is in the Coast Guard, and my youngest is of course still here with us, keeping life interesting.

Another Wildcat girl here. Admit that I was not raised on sports( hunting or fishing was all my dad was in to) but married a Kentucky boy and the rest was history! I am hooked! Have been to every SEC tournament since the 1991-92 season and three final fours. My yearly vacation is planned around the SEC tournament and March Madness! Still learning the ins and outs of basketball and football so bear with me if I ask stupid questions.
I think I may have met one of you at the tournament in Atlanta this year as you had posted a pic of you and our friend, Jack, from Louisville at the pep rally. Can't remember now which one it was!
Kind of hard to be a UK girl here in this orange country but wear my blue proudly! I am a teacher and my students all know that I don't like orange! Not much of a cook but love to do crafts and decorate. Building a new house closer to the Kentucky border this year and really getting into picking out stuff for the house. Basement is all dedicated to UK, even the bathroom! Amazing what stuff is out there to decorate with!:ggrin:
Anyway, nice to meet you all.

I've been a Cat fan as long as I can remember...but more into it since around 1990 or so. I can remember, though, watching with my Mom and Dad i when I was younger, in the 70's!
Love to vacation at the beach...just got backa couple weeks ago. Also, been to the SEC Tourney twice now. It's been a GREAT girls only trip. I'm afraid that my hubby may want to go next year. :cry:Oh well...thems the breaks!
Love animals, especially dogs. My girl Shelby is our child, since we do not have any of the two legged kind. Maybe one of these days.
I'm so glad to be led to this site! It seems like it's going to great times! Heck...with all you motormouts starting off fresh...I may be able to keep up in the number of posts! :D

"Kind of hard to be a UK girl here in this orange country but wear my

Greetings! It's always good to find blue blips in this world of orange
down here! I've actually found that most UT fans are fairly civil to
me--but then again, that's probably because I'm here in Middle
Tennessee, where it's more of a melting pot, rather than in East
Tennessee, where it's much more orange. Heck, I'll wear UK stuff to
work--and I work for the State! Talk about blasphemy! :D
What part of Tennessee are you in?

CoquieKat, You are not far from me as I live in Cheatham County now but getting ready to move to Clarksville/Adams. Actually our property that we are building on is in Montgomery County and only 7 miles from the Clarksville mall but it is only 3miles to the Robertson County line so they gave us and Adams address! (We are only 6 miles from Guthrie, Ky why not a Kentucky address?LOL) Confused now??
Love that we get our cable from Clarksville here now and can get the ball games on the cable channel from Hopkinsville. We bought the land before this happened as hubby figured we were close enough to the Kentucky line to pick up the ball games!Used to have to drive 30+ miles toGreen Hills to the Box Seat to watch the games or to Rivergate once Baileys opened. Then listen to the talk show and Cawoodout of Bowling Green on the way home. AHHH those were the days!!!! OOOPS I think I just showed my age!:ggrin:
Where in Nashville are you? As for my kids knowing I do not like orange.. I have 3 and 4 year olds and last year I caught one of them who loves UT trying to color my hand with an orange marker as I was showing one of the other kids how to do something!! Now it is a kind of joke to find anything orange and touch me with it! YUCK! I grew up here so am considered a major traitor of sorts since I do not pull for the orange or the black/gold. You must have nicer folks around you but I get all kinds of grief. The finger on the interstate because of my UK stuff on my car. Even a big orange towel was thrown in my front yard after UT beat us in basketball one year. Hubby said it was off a golf cart since we are across from the course BUT I am not so sure about that!
Do you follow the Titans? We have season tickets and now I am a Titan fan! Between UK football and basketball and the Titans, we stay pretty busy! Good to talk to another one of the "Blue Mist" as Plaster calls us! LOL
The LORD is my shepherd.. Tubby Smith is my coach!!

catfeverintennessee,
I kind of know the area you're talking about. We pass by the Adams exit
on our way up I-24 to go visit DH's family in Hoptown. Must be nice to
get Hoptown stations. I found out that Channel 30 out of Nashville will
broadcast stuff from the UK Basketball Network, and they're also the
home of JP. So I only miss the games that are on ESPN or Fox Sports,
since I don't have cable.
I live near Mt. Juliet, actually, but I put "Nashville" because no one
seems to know where Mt. Juliet is. :) So we're too far away from
Hoptown or Bowling Green to get any radio broadcasts from there. But
95.1 out of Glasgow comes in fairly well. Thank goodness for my one
co-worker who's an avid UK fan and clued me in on that one. The "SCAN"
button on my radio doesn't pick it up.
Maybe people are nicer to me because they know I'm a Kentucky native,
so I'm not a "traitor"--just loyal to my roots. Or maybe they think I
just don't know any better. :) My co-worker might get it, though, since
he's a Tennessee native but has parents who are both from Kentucky. I
don't really have anything on my car to indicate that I'm a UK *fan*
per se, just an alumnus. Maybe that's why I've missed the ribbing from
UT fans. I plan on getting the Tennessee UK tag later this year, so
that might change, lol.
I don't follow the Titans too much. I've never been able to get into
pro football. Can't get DH to go to football games with me, either,
since he's even less into it than I am! Lately it seems like the only
things you hear about them are about someone getting arrested for
either DUI or domestic abuse.
Hmm...Blue Mist...I like that!
Take care!
Katie

CoquieKat, I keep waiting to run into you in Mt Juliet. This place is too small for us not to pass at some point. Look for a white SUV with UK tags front and back. I do see several UK shirts shopping at Kroger.:)
CoquieKat
06-04-2005, 12:46 PM
Rick, sounds like we have similar tastes--I have a white Matrix, soon
to have a UK tag on the back. :) I don't actually do a lot in Mt.
Juliet since I work in downtown Nashville. Most of my shopping is done
in Hermitage on my way home. I really don't even live in Mt. Juliet
itself--I'm out in the boonies of Wilson County not far from Percy
Priest. I just happen to have a Mt. Juliet mailing address and phone
number. Maybe I'll do more shopping in town in the next few months now
that they widened Mt. Juliet Road and Providence is coming in.
But yeah, just look for a white Matrix with a sunroof and a UK alumni
decal in the rear windshield, and that's me. Can't be that many of them
strutting around western Wilson County. :) I'll keep a look-out for you.

I an not a Northernian but bleedbluelady is. I am from Louisville. We have vowed to get together for a game since both of us have suffered the wrath of some of the quieter folks in Rupp Arena. We are vocal. This will be my 5th year to have season tickets to mens basketball so most everyone around me has learned to deal with it. :)They had best learn to if they haven't already because as long as I can scrape up the money to renew my season tickets I will be right there in section 230, row s, seats 10 and 11.

I have only had the pleasure of meeting Cathy, POEKLM. and bleedbluelady, but I surely would LOVE to meet a lot more of you gals. I have at least talked to Miss Kitty (whom I planto meet)and catfanshan by e-mail. :)I have always wanted to meet CurlyCat, too, as I have read her posts for years.
I am SO GLAD to see that trublu55 is here. I had wondered about you, trublu55, but had no way to reach you.
Catfeverintennessee, I live only an hour from Clarksville. Our younger son graduated from Austin Peay.
Missy, are you the "missy" to whom I have responded appreciatively on WCFfor your kindness? I'm thinking so, and I am most thrilled to see you here. Bless your heart for doing so. That touches my heart.
UKChic, I remember our feeling EXACTLY the same about something on WCF, in regard to basketball. Now that was weird!
My hobbies are, first of all, UK sports...UK basketball AND UK football. I also like to cook desserts and especially to eat them. I LOVE the water, especially riding our "old" jet ski. I love to sing, especially at church.
I have two sons, one who is getting married this Saturday. Our younger son lives in Indianapolis. I can hardly wait for grandkids. I LOVE babies so much. I still have dreams that I have had another little baby. My hubby calls those dreams
"nightmares.":)Oh, I almost forgot to say that I like to talk and laugh, but everybody from WCF had that figured out, I'm sure. :)
Did I say that this is FUN?!!! I wish I could meet all of you.

I had participated in WCF since Dec., 1999; have been to many basketball games and SEC tourneys, but have never gotten to stay at the group hotel, so I know I have seen many of you, but just don't know who you are yet!!! I feel like I know many of you already as my friends here!
We live in Bardstown, KY; married for 32 years; no children, 1 dog, 1 cat named "tucky" (wonder how that happened:P), lots of goldfish and koi in my outdoor ponds, two "muscle cars", we love to go to car shows and cruises; anybody know of one we could go to??
I am a bookkeeper for a construction company here in town; Melvin has a auto body repair shop here in town with his brother; life is not too exciting, except for living day to day, anxiously awaiting the next U.K. basketball game or NHRA drag race!!! I am an avid nitro fan; I think I actually like it more than Melvin does, and they say women don't get into that kind of stuff!!:D
Hope to meet many of you this season at the games some where; I can hardly wait!

Well, I plan to try to make it to some tailgates this year...hopefully we'll finally get to meet in person! I just live a mile away, so even if I'm not going to the game, I could make it up to the tailgate.
Great to see you and all the other gals here! :D

My hubby a UK fan? You've got to be kidding. He hates UK. I came home with a new Coleman 6 pack cooler Sunday. It was blue and white. When I took it out of the bag he rolled his eyes. I do try and keep the peace. I explained there wasn't another color. And there wasn't. My green one ended up in Tampa with CurlyCat after the SEC tourney in March.
Like POEKLM says. He is a good sport and lets me take UK trips. Whoa....Let's me???;) Its great to have so many gals here.
A trip to SanFranciso sounds like a great idea. I've been there in the early 80s. Would love to go back. I still want to go to Maui for the Maui classic too.
I would also like to make a road trip to Vandy this year for the football game. I believe it is in Nashville. We gals have a lot to chat about. Looking forward to it.

Cathy, I can understand your frustration. DH has become a quasi-UT football fan since we moved down here! :XNo amount of calling him a "traitor" seems to do any good. It's not like he actually follows football, though; he just roots for UT to win, even against UK. The nerve...!
Heck, I didn't even like getting the orange Homer bucket from Home Depot as a wedding gift. It had a lot of useful things inside for our home, but come on...an orange bucket? It was given to us by a UT fan who said that we needed more orange in our home. Thank goodness for my family back home who gave us a lot of stuff in blue!
I keep threatening to drag him to a football or basketball game when the Cats come down here and play. My rationale is that if I go with him to all of these car shows and car-club meetings (which I do), why can't he go to a game with me? Vandy/UK football tickets are looking sorta pricey at the moment ($40 a pop, I think), so maybe I can convince him to at least come down with me to tailgate with fellow UK fans.

Its really sad. We've been married for 20 years. I pretty much handle all his UL/UK abuse fairly well. Fortunately, he helps out his Mom on Saturdays. This year I was at home alone. Fortunately he was not home at the end of the game. I was crazy to say the least. I do all kinds of crazy things during games. This one I was over the top. Ask POEKLM how much I can't take it when it is close. Much less like this one. Had he been home it might have been ugly. I wouldn't say anything. I never do. But when his Irish/Italian temper rears its head, I have to be careful of what I say and do. I have learned to respect his being a UL fan. The "I hate UK" I will never adjust to.
I would gladly choke and go to a UL game if he would go with me. It will never happen. He doesn't go to UL games anyway. Its been a long, long time. Never been to PJs. But always watches. I miss him taking road trips too. I would go on som many more.

Hello ladies! I peeped this thread late on Sunday ...had no time
to post, yesterday was too busy. I'm stealing a few minutes now to say
"hey" and"nice to be here with you all."
I've read all of your posts for a few years.
Some of you I feel I understand , a couple of you I've emailed personal
messages. Each of you has my respect and liking. I don't think I
can say that about ALL of our blue brothers, but generally, they are
terrific, would you agree?
Some of the following info is posted on the thread about ID names, so forgive me if I repeat myself.
I'm Carmen. I am native to Lexington, went to school there for 16
years, moved to NC, moved to Cincy, moved to GA, moved to
CAlifornia--quit moving. KY basketball has been in my blood since
1954 when my daddy took me to my first game at Memorial Coliseum. The
Cats won. It was all terriblely exciting to a 4 year old. It
would still be terribly exciting!
Hmmmm..I'm married 28 years, have 4 kids--2 girls, 2 boys, ages:
27,25,23,18. The 18 yr. old is graduating from high school on
Friday. My kids have all gone to Los Gatos H.S. , a fitting
name --their mascot is the Wildcat.
I don't want to go on and on, but I'm fond of you ALL. I
have interests besides family and sports ,but those are 2 of
the big ones. For no,I will try to wrap this up as Iam due down
at the high school to help with prep for our all night party(follows
commencement ) Grad Night.
Let me say a huge "Thank you to TRexSmarts, WCDan and CoreyD" for
taking us in. I hope they never feel "overrun ." My friend, capcat
suggested to me that they might feel overwhelmed with our WCF-ness. Not
her words, but her idea. She's sensitive to these aspects of
relationship, as are Poodoo, Cathy , & hopefully, many of our
number.
It's worth consideration. I am proud to be formerly of the board
called WCF. I'm a fansite rookie, as WCF was my first, so I need
to say these things, perhaps inappropriately. I'm talking to myself
mostly, just to be clear about who created this board ,who gets
the credit, who has ultimate" say " etc.
Lastly, I want to thank whoever the kind souls are who have sent me
mana. I really appreciate it. No one could be more surprised.
Perhaps there is some sort of automatic mana...I figured myself to
be... way mana- challenged. Just hoping for some pity mana...anyway
"Thank you ."

You are welcome! A big huge welcome goes out to everybody. We will never fill overrun. We are overwhelmed by how fast you all came over though. We are my overwhelmed knowing that we get to test out this board now before the season starts. For me, I'm like a kid in a candy shop! This is one of my dream and I'm glad it's coming true. There is a lot of things I love to do for you all and can't wait until I get them up and running. Right now everything is going smoothly. We are currently working on switching servers here shortly which means more bandwidth and that means we can turn the signatures back on for you all. Again, thank you all!

It must be that female intuition that makes us think this way. :)Yes, I have worried about the prior members' possibly feeling "overrun" and "overwhelmed" with our WCF-ness, as you say, calsegs. I surely hope no one is feeling that way, althoughthat reactionwould be most understandable, I must say. Thanks to TRexSmarts, especially, for going out of his way to assureus that is not a problem. Hi everybody, another Wildcat of the female persuasion here. I have been crazy about the Cats ever since my Dad took me to my first game when I was 10 years old.
I am the sports fanatic in our family and keep up especially with all things Wildcat. My Husband enjoys it because it makes me happy, and he has learned a few things along the way. We have been married 18 years as of last month. We have had season football tickets since'89, and we go to the basketball games when we can get tickets. My biggest thrill last season was to get to go to Senior night. I am a huge Chuck Hayes fan and I think I had tears in my eyes through the entire game.
I graduated from UK in '79 with a degree in Communications and I have been a 911 dispatcher for 23 years and I still love my job. You never know when that phone rings what's gonna be on the other end.
Thanks so much to all the owners and members here for the warm welcome.

Being 31, it seems like I'm losing timeto have any kind of family. I'm tired of feeling lonely. I have women tell me I'm great husband material. My friends just refuse to set me up with a lady for some odd reason. Also, seems like every time I'm around two of my friends (one lady and one guy) they always hook up. There is a lot of times, I do hook up some of my friends and they do get married and etc. But when it comes to me, I get the same thing over and over. I honestly do feel that my first true love will be the woman I married. Never been on a date six 6th grade. Hope something comes soon or else I'm destined to be single all my life.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm planning on trying to get in shape. Just hard for me when I have to walk everywhere or my friends are super thin. *lol* The reason I say that is if we went to the gym, our workout would be two different work outs. son's wedding!
Congratulations! Our friend capcat and I are just wetting our feet in
the wedding department , as we both have daughters planning
to be married May '06. My daughter and her fiance were
home from NYC for the weekend as her little brother, our
"baby" just graduated H.S.
While the kids were home we started to line up our proverbial ducks, in regards thir wedding.
I know you must be thrilled for your son and your new daughter-in-law .
If you have any advice for capcat and me, we'd love it. (right, capcat?)
Moreover, I ( like many ) admire your sports knowledge and your
compassionate heart. It's an awesome combination,
insightful and inspirational!

Trex, when I get home in December for my tri-Annual holiday youshould hit it--you,me and my bros. My two bros should bein townwhen I'm Home. We can hit 4th Street Live together and Rock the Joint. I'll want to take my friend Rebecca out too. Rebecca is one of the best people I have met on this planet in my lifetime. And she needs to be dragged out from time to time. Especially after the year she's had. (she lost her husband Pete this year--Officer Grignon)
We should get together. I have to warn ya though. I'm old (36) but I can still throw down. LOL
Hey now, I have a sister in Louisville and might be spending the holidays there...
What? No invite for the Curly haired one to party at Christmas with the Three Kings, I mean, the Three Kaelins? ;)
Oh my, there must be something I'm forgetting about Catlanta...

Calsegs and capcat, bless your hearts. I was lucky...as I was the groom's mother. Even then, I would become stressed out, especially since there were going to be about 300 guests at the wedding. My husband and I decided to greet folks as they entered the church, so that I wouldn't have to worry about finding everyone at the reception and thanking them for coming. That was a really nice experience, hugging friends and family before the ceremony.
My only advice is to PRAY a lot. Also, I tend to haveterrible migraines, and I was so worried about having one the day of the wedding. I even prayed forany migraine just to be delayed. I finally got onetoward the very END of the reception, just while we were cleaning up. I was SOthankful my prayer had been answered. :)Anyway, I had been praying about that for months. Also, friends had been praying for me. I was not nearly as stressed out thenight of the rehearsal dinner and the day of the wedding as I had been in weeks before the wedding. Good luck to you ladies. Again, I cannot imagine being the mother of the bride. Too, my husband and I only havetwo sons. How I wouldgladly takeplanning abride's wedding, though,in exchange for also having a daughter!Yes, I already look forward to having grandkids someday, and I must admit a little granddaugther is part of those dreams. :)
In regard to advice as a mother-in-law, it'sSTAY OUT OF IT. While Iam most talkative (which you probably realize), :)I vow never to interfere in my son's and daughter's business. ICAN keep my mouth shut.Too, Iintend to remember that I am not losing a son, but gaining that "daughter" I hadalways wanted!

poodoo, I didn't even think about the migraines. I get something like those, too. Guess I'll have to add meds to the list of things to bring. I'm not working this year, well I am but its for myself, I don't think there would've been time to get things done otherwise. I also have a 12 year old so still am pretty much a chauffer in the afternoons after school. Not enough time or energy to do it all. We're doing a turn-key thing so some of the pressure is off,but I should mention thatCalsegs is brave and capable enough to do this at her home!Think most of my time this year will be spent remodeling, etc.in anticipation ofout of town guests. Our 50 year old home has been in need of that for awhile.
I'm working on the mother-in-law idea. Geeze, life goes by fast...could it already be time for that?
Calsegs
06-13-2005, 07:15 PM
Guess who else has a 50 year old home that needs some work?? capcat, the parallel list continues...
Poodoo, prayer is usually where it begins and ends with me! There may
be some struggling in the middle . Your post gives me much to
contemplate. Thank you especially in re the mother-in-law concept.
I am looking at our wedding as a big party with a
short religious ceremony preceding. There are about a zillion
horrendous aspects of our home(exaggerate much?) that need
improvement...starting with 75% of our toilets. Exterior of
house needs painting, etc. There will come a point when I just
won't be able to be bothered with any more of it.but that 's a long way
from here.
Ladies, I need to go produce dinner. More later.

Poodoo...I'm so glad your migrain held off. I was afraid you would be worn out worrying about it. You'll have to slip a picture in your pocket and bring to one of the tailgates.
CurlyCat...I didn't get an invite to the 3 Kaelin's party either and I live here!!!! Seriously, be sure and let me know if you come here for the holidays. Maybe we can get some of us local gals together for a drink or dinner somewhere. We might invite the guys ;) Where does your sister live in Louisville?

I know! Your house must be larger than mine, though.I would either have to replace allor half of the toilets(we only have 2 baths). Sadly, we can't come up with a 75% figure.

I will do that, Cathy. :)Too, like you, I LOVE this "Wildcat Ladies" thread. :)
Also, I laughed when you talked about getting together with some of the "local gals" for a drink or dinner. I laughed because it brought back memories of my days in college. I dont' drink, but I always fit in with all my college girlfriends who did, for I acted so crazy without it! :)In fact, they always said that they would love to see me drunk just one time, for they just couldn't imagine how I could be any crazier! :)

I'm a little slow to post but I'm another wildcat chick here (haha). My name is Sarah and my blue roots are very deep even though it took me awhile to claim them. I'm a 27-year oldMadisonville native but lived in the Richmond/Lexington area for 7 years and Louisville for a year before moving to Nashville a few years ago. I've been married for just over a year and am now focused on raising our 3-month old honeymoon baby to be blue in orange country. His first professional pictures weredone in an Azubuike jersey with UKpom poms, bear, and basketball. It was really hard to talk the photographer into that here! Our cat is also namedKATlenna Azubuike but called Buike forshort. Needless to say I've been pretty depressed this offseason because Buike was my man. Gosh I'm gonna miss those arms!
Someone posted about being in the schools here in Tennessee and making sure they wore their blue. I'm also in the schools as a school psychololgist and take alot of flack for wearing blue on gamedays and having a UK office. I even tried to schedule the induction of our son around the NCAA tournament! TN doctors just don't know that its a divorceable sin for a UK woman to go into labor during a ballgame...much less the tournament! :P
When I lived in Louisville I went to a ton of basketball games and a few football games. I managed to make it to the Coppin State game last year but after hiking the steps to the top of Rupp while pregnant I decided that was my last game I attended for that season. DH's jealous because I go to more games than he does!!
Good to see so many familiar and new faces here! Also great to see so many Nashville area people. Maybe we can find a sports bar around here and meet for a few games. Can't wait for the SEC tournament! We're definitely going to be there this year.

Wow has this thread taken off since the last time I had a chance to check it. Story of my life, I go to the bathroom for a minute and I miss all the fun.LOL Well in this case I went back to work.
Poodoo, it sounds like the wedding went off without a hitch. Only thing is, that lunch we were talking about may have to wait till after the 4th of July, we're just crazy busy at the shop, and it's only going to get worse till we get through the 4th. My lunch the past week consisted of a sandwich while I worked at my desk, and I barely found time for that.
CurlyCat, do you think you'll be coming to Webster County anytime soon?

Welcome, Sarah! You join Judy (catfeverintennessee) and me as the Nashville-area contingent of Wildcat ladies. I really don't get too much flak in my office for wearing my blue--thank goodness. Just a little bit of good-natured ribbing. Since the UT fans see that I don't get upset by it, they pretty much leave me alone. :) It helps that some of my co-workers call Phil Fulmer "The Great Pumpkin."
I've been married almost 2 years myself, but no babies--yet. Waiting a little bit longer than you did, I guess. :D
Glad to see you here! We need as many Nashville-area people wearing blue as possible to cancel out the orange--or at least mute it. :)

I'm lucky because one of my principals at the elementary school I work for is an avid UK fan. Whenever I have to give him bad news I quickly change the topic to basketball and he forgets what I did to make him mad. Works like a charm! Its definitely nice to have UK fans around but I enjoy the ribbing I get and give.

:D Congratulations!! capcat.
As Dan Bern said in his song, "it ain't bragging if it's true, Muhammed Ali said so"
Especially not, if you're the Mom!
Your son must have a powerful ability to focus.

Is there a story that you want to share about the origin of the little fellow? He was the only thing I could find that was the right file size, and in my mind he's a little wildcat. Even though he's blue or gray. We'll have to think of him that way ;). I have no idea where or how I got him...I just went on a search one night and it accidently worked :D:D. But, thanks :)!

I had lunch with a couple of people from Puerto Rico today and learned something new about waves :). Did you know that waves come in a pattern of 7 big waves, 6 small waves? I had never heard that. When they had to cross a rocky passage, they would count the waves to know when it was safe to pass. I don't how reliable that is in all oceans/locales, but you learn something new everyday.

 I have not known that , and I think that is really interesting. I wonder how it applies to surfing.

I don't know, but if it's true, I would think it isuseful to surfers in some way. As I was typing, I thought...I'll bet Calsegs knows about this already .
