Last nite and today at Memorial Coliseum...Tubby had over 100 H.S. Coaches in for skills and strategy. We witnessed a closed team practice from 7-9 P.M. last nite with a Reception at the Basketball Museum ..
I am heading over there from 9:00 til 2:00 then Blue White Scrimmage..When I get home ,I will post my observations on the players at practice..Much better idea than Midnite Madness ..That is a show ..not a practice..See you tonite..:ggrin:

The Practice was very informative...And The Blue White Scrimmage opened some eyes...In a nutshell:
1.Randolph Morris is 25 # lighter and faster..often leading the break..Amazing..A good outside shot not seen before...
2.Joe Crawford with 31 points is at home at the 2 Guard ...The Small Forward spot was not his natural position...
3.Bobby Perry has continued his development from last season and was en fuego from 3 Point Line today..
4.Ramel Bradley and the extra 18# of muscle has made him more of a take it to the hole player...He can absorb the contact now..
5. Stevenson gives us a shot blocker and defender that we have lacked since Jules Camara..
6.The tall Freshmen guards..Meeks and Jasper are a delight and Jasper finds the open man...No more posting up our guards...
7.The walk on Mark Coury will see time at the 3..Good shooter..Sees the court well..
All in all ..a team that "likes" each other if you get my drift..No personalities... :ggrin:

Pretty much agree with everything you said. Not quite sure about Coury though. Need to see more before drawing that conclusion. I thought Woo looked like he's ready to contribute some solid play. He looked a lot more comfortable today than I've ever seen him.

Thanks Grover! Tough schedule coming up. Can you rough out a win-loss prediction?

Best case Scenario..5-6 losses worst case ..hard to say..Tubby told me that he "likes" the cohesiveness of this team...I believe taht they are coachable..The physical conditionin that they are in is a real sight to behold..Props to Scott Holsopple:thumbup

Speaking of that.
I picked up a copy of your book in Joseph-Beth this weekend, Sam. Very well-done. I'm sorry I didn't have one sooner.
The work that you must have put in getting those threads together, labeling them, sorting them, "organizing" them and so on...that must have been tough. I especially like the interview with Mel at the beginning of the book.
A big :thumbup to you!

Thanks Will. I always enjoy your posts and I save all the book comments. Thank our God all comments have been positive although the book won't sell much because all of the Cats talk about forgetting last year. It is still a journal which shows the loyalty and passion of the internet fans IMHO. Of course, http://www.wildcatnation.net is a class site on which tofollow the Wildcats. Mel's protoge's and wildcatdan do a superb job with the site and insist that posters don't go too far from rationality.
