LEXINGTON - It's no surprise that new strength coach Scott Holsopple has made Kentucky's basketball players stronger because of his rigorous summer workout program.
Kentucky coach Tubby Smith finally admitted the obvious midway of last season when he acknowledged the Cats were being pushed around by stronger, bigger players way too often and decided to look for a new strength coach.
However, Holsopple's arrival from Marquette apparently has produced an added bonus.
"Scott is a big plus. He developed some outstanding athletes and players at Marquette," said Smith Thursday during UK's Media Day. "He's had a chance over the summer and fall to see guys not just in their natural maturation, but he's developed real team togetherness."
