After running roughshod over the Big 12 in the mid/late 90s, they've floundered in the post-Osborne era. Silently, they've crept into the top 20, and are holding #5 Texas at bay with solid defense. 7-3 Huskers in the 2nd quarter.

Watched quite a bit of this game. Nebraska took the lead and had the ball back and fumbled with under 2 minutes to play. Texas kicked a field goal to win with 27 seconds left. I was kind of rooting for the Huskers in this one. I respect their tradition.
To answer your question, Brian: Not quite yet. But maybe close.

One more year, definitely. It's hard to re-gain the dominance they had in the 90s.

They may not get back to that level but I think they will be Top 10. Nebraska had one of the best runs in college football history. For awhile they overpowered everybody. They just smashed them in the ground.
It always amazed me that a small populated state in the midwest where it was always cold and snowing could put out football teams like they did. To me football was invented to play in 95 degree heat with 100% humidity and here they were playing in 30 degree weather with snow flying. Strange.
