LEXINGTON, Ky. -- One of those preseason basketball magazines had University of Kentucky guard Joe Crawford scouted as a good player who wasn't aggressive in going to the basket.
Told this after his 29-point performance in yesterday's Blue-White Scrimmage, Crawford chuckled.
"They don't know me," he said. "They haven't seen my whole game yet."
Crawford has spent two seasons at UK. He counts among his 63 career games an NCAA regional final and 35 appearances on national television.
And yet as his White team lost to the Blue 95-87 in front of 4,551 fans yesterday at Memorial Coliseum, Crawford backed up his assessment, playing the way onlookers have rarely seen him in his college career.
Crawford slashed through the defense. He pulled up on the break for the short jumper. He made 12 of 22 shots, including 2 of 7 three-pointers.
