:cool:I just talked to Halstead High School and the next tournament is Jan 15th/16th/18th/19th and 20th...it's about a seven hour drive for me and I am seroiusly thinking of attending to honor Coach Rupp.

Kansas and Kansas University have a lot of pride in Adolph Rupp. Once on the Jayhawk Slant in a discussion about Coach Rupp someone said "Oh wasn't he a racist?" Another poster said "no he wasn't a racist and please give it a rest because the news media said the same thing about us when Wilt Chamberlain played here."

Like Spanish Moss said I am glad that he is honored in his hometown and thought well ofat his Alma Mater. The Jayhawk fans like Rupp a lot better than they do Dean Smith another Kansas alumni.Of course I think many Jayhawk fans are still mad at Dean Smith because they blame him for Roy Williams leaving Kansas and going back to North Carolina.

:cool:If you punch in Halstead, Kansas there are several sites that mention Coach Rupp...I feel stupid because I have lived so close for so many years and am just now realizing I need to get on the road.
