Hunter looked a little shaky but he calmed down and did a good job. Cantwell was pretty highly rated freshman when he came in so I think he will be ok but we will be talking about Miami or VT possibly and those two teams are pretty tough. I dont think UL has seen a player with the kind of talent that Marcus Vick has al year long.

That will be a lot of pressure on a QB who's seen little playing time. I hope that he can step up to the challenge.

Thank you trueblue. I don't think anybody really thinks Cantwell can step in and waltz through one of the toughest D's in the country. I have seen Cantwell in practice several times. His biggest plus is his accuracy. He is a very intelligent player and can read defenses pretty well. He has all the accuracy of LeFors but has twice the arm. His downside is his mobility. He is also twice as slow as LeFors was. He can't scramble worth a crap. Probably even worse than Brohm. So I expect Miami to come at him full bore. Petrino has already said he is going to adjust the offense to suit Hunter. Probably a west coast type with several dumps and short 5-10 yard passes and just hope for the best. Bush will be back to 100% which will be a boost. It will be a fun trip none the less. Just feel bad for Brian.

Thanks for the concern.
Expect to see a 250 lb. quarterback in the UL backfield some during the Gator Bowl.
I expect Petrino will go with Bush, Smith, and Stripling for the power running game at least a couple of series. If the experiment works you may see quite a bit of it.

Best of luck to the Cards and their QB. I hope Bush can play at his best andhelp beat the Canes (or VT). It'll be tough.

I know Bush would be up for the job..I loved watching him QB at Male..he would do the job and do it well...but I am not taking anything away from Cantwell..I just don't know enough about him.

Very nice TBCF, Thanks.
Like Noknee, I believe UConn and the bowl opponent are going to stack the line and try to force Hunter to pass the ball. I hope with the UConn game under his belt he will gain more confidence. I have said before that I thought BP should have been giving him more snaps in blowout wins, now it's come back to bite him on the arse. I think Cantwell has the ability to get it done, I just hope he has the mentality.

Like most Big Blue fans, I'm sorry to hear about Brian's injury. As we Cat fans know, injury is a part of the game, but when it happens to a major player, it hurts much worse. Congratulations on the Gator Bowl bid, and I wish you the best in your last game and the bowl game.

I just wanted to say that I'm sorry to hear of Brohm's injury. I hope that it doesn't hurt his career.
Good luck in the bowl game.

Add my name to the list of those who hated to see Brohm get injured. He's a quality young man and is obviously the real deal at quarterback. I hope he recovers completely and has a great career at U of L. I'm sure he'll have several more bowl opportunities before he's through.

I am at a loss of words, which is pretty rare for me. You guys are going to run me out of here with kindness of all things.
I don't know what is it with injuries to UK's football team, and our basketball team?!? None the less, I'm just excited to be in that atmosphere down there. We booked out tickets last night. Supposedly we are staying in the teams hotel. At least Cantwell has a full month to practice. Petrino can prepare him for the barrage of blitzes he is going to encounter.
