Many of us possess a very short and selective memory, especially it seems, when it comes to sports.
Most of us, around these parts anyway, remember vividly the game last season when Mason County's own Chris Lofton came into Rupp Arena and lit up the Cats with 31 points, leading the Tennessee Volunteers to a 75-67 win over UK.
I was there covering the game on press row and it was exciting.
However, we seem to forget that Kentucky returned the favor when they visited Knoxville later in the year and dropped the Vols by an 80-78 score.
The preseason magazines have been on newsstands for weeks and Tubby Smith's club is getting very little respect from the national media.
Along with that, there seems to be an air of pessimism surrounding the program on the part of Kentucky fans.
Many of them claim Tubby can't coach, he can't recruit, he doesn't let the players run enough, etc., etc., etc.
I don't think he's the greatest coach who was ever born either but he does know how to coach.
