Shes currently in a close race to the WVU cheerleader. Tell all your friends and vote everyday! I think if she wins she gets some nice stuff

I just voted for Kelly although I'm not exactly sure what she is in the running for. What's up with the girl from Arizona State. Did they not know her last name or is she like Cher or Beyonce (Knowles?)and only goes by one name; Shaina. The WVU chick was still a little in the lead.

Not only do we have the forces of the Wildcat Nation pulling for Kelly, but also the Rick and Bubba Army is being urged to vote for her. She has worked as an intern on their radio/TV show for the past two years here in Birmingham, AL.

Rick and Bubba have a link to the vote on their web site: www.rickandbubba.com (http://www.rickandbubba.com)

This information explains something I saw in the vote site the other day...look at the results for each round the cheerleader from WV had a HUGE number of votes in her preliminary round...I mean way disproportionate...I kept trying to figure how they had managed that an now we know...so we should show those WV fans that even voting all the time they can't outvote the Nation...come on everyone.

I just voted againand the WVa Chick is ahead. The percentage is the same (33%), but the WVa Chick has 25,387, Kellyhas 25,236. Kelly's losing ground.

WVa has some gimmick. In each round they've managed to get just enough votes to win. They had over 88,000 in one round. I don't know what they are doing, but it's working.

FWIW.....this in regards to the Athlon Sports Cheerleading contest.

"Due to concerns over voting discrepancy and accuracy, Athlon Sports has decided to temporary close the polls while they re-work the security to insure a fair voting process by requiring voters to register. The voting totals will be reset to zero for all contestants. The voting will reopen on December 14 and run through midnight of January 5th."

WildcatGirl
12-09-2005, 02:48 PM
Good...I'm glad...it certainly wasn't fair the way it was for anyone and maybe this will stop whatever advantage that WV had apparently found in the last two years to this contest. If Kelly loses and it's a fair vote, so be it...but I hated the thought that we either had to do what WV was doing or have her lose because they were cheating.

SunBaller
12-09-2005, 03:10 PM
The deficit keeps growing. Kelly is now 3,200 votes behind the WVa chic.

WVa Chic - 40%

Kelly - 38%

Guys/Gals, cease the voting. I saw this posted on Catspause.com from BlueWorldOrder:

Amazing what a email can do[line] Well it had to be done, I got tired of the unfair advantage of the ballot stuffing for the cheerleading contest. yes i was guilty of it, but I stopped doing a couple of days ago. Not only was it unfair to Kelly but it was unfair to the other cheerleaders involved in the contest. So I wrote a little email to that sites editor sponsering the contest and heres the reply I got back.

Thank you for your interest and participation in the Athlon Sports Sideline
Spirit contest. The enthusiasm generated by this year's program has exceeded
our expectations.

We have run into some security issues regarding our voting. For each
security measure we have implemented, there have been visitors who have
bypassed the measure and 'gamed' the voting, while some legitimate voters
have been denied. This has skewed our results and not enabled the
cheerleaders to be on even footing.

As a result, we are taking the voting down for a few days to implement
another security measure. We will require voters now to register with a
valid email address, and we will track how many votes from a particular
email address. We hope this final solution will make it difficult to 'game'
and give us a fair contest.

We are re-setting the totals in the final round to zero and re-opening the
voting on Dec. 12. The contest will run through Jan. 5, giving us 22 days to
determine a 2005 winner.

Thanks so much for your feedback and please contact me with any questions.

TRexSmarts

TL, it's that kind of thinking that lead to the initial discrepancy that had everyone searching for a way to equal things out so to speak. I think it would be best to vote the proper way and hope that this action by Atholon will help to make this a fair competition. I wish Kelly the best and hope that she wins...but if this will help level the field for all I think we should vote in that spirit as well and hope that she wins fairly. I'm sure that you could register 5 seperate times doing the same 'cookie' trick that was used before and vote 5 times a day...but wouldn't you rather feel like she won because she actually won?

I admit that it irritated me to see the discrepancy in the preliminary vote counts and that someone from the same school won last year making something not 'above board' pretty obvious...but hopefully this will discourage that and we can have a fair contest from here on out.

Even though I come up with the idea, I actually wouldn't do it. Heck, I didn't even do the cookie thing that you all mention to do last time. I just voted once during the day unless I'm on campus then I would vote twice in one day that way because I was on a different computer. I was just wondering if they thought of that security flaw as well?

I have to say that West Virgina Chick is hott and that to beat her would be a great feat since she probably has all the West Virginia fans as well as every other person voting for her just based on her hotness. Also thatpicture of Kelly does her no favors. I went to the Ole Miss football game and I was in the grove along side of Kelly's aunt and she came over to their tent before that game and she was adorable alot cuter than that picture. We also got to meet the guy behind the Cat mascot (not scratch) his name was Dave he came over and talked to us for awhile he was a really nice guy. But anyway Go Cats!!!!! I am going to keep voting for Kelly maybe we can pull off a miracle.

I did notice that I didn't have to 'register' like the message had said people would have to do...so I'm wondering if they really fixed the problem or just started the whole thing over again, but will have the same problems all over again.

As a person that works with IT support teams at IBM, part of a security measure is NOT telling ppl that you have stopped them. This keeps the kind of security measure you have in place more secretive. If you try to vote again immediate after your first vote, you'll notice the number of votes doesn't change so there is some measure of security in place.
