New Basketball Rules and Emphasis.

Emphasis this year is again, "Hands on defense, and Palming or Carrying the ball." Have you noticed it yet, especially Hands on defense?

Only seen 4 games so far, but the Texas-Mich St. game was pretty tough on palming.

Will the emphasis fade after the first 5 or 6 games of the season? That might be the question.

It probably will, but hopefully it will because the players are adjusting. If the officialsquit calling it, the emphasis on the rule was useless. It's happened before, but this year could be different.

Also, in some games I've seen they call it when a player is making a move, but I saw one player bringing the ball up the court and palmed the ball on 4 consecutive dribbles. To be effective, it needs to be inforced every time. Walking is the same way.
