Kentucky Head Coach Rich Brooks

On next week’s game against Vanderbilt...
“The one thing we have to guard against is we’re not used to winning a game like this and we need to make sure that we get ready and respect Vanderbilt because they also beat this team and they beat them on the road. We beat them at home, so we’ve got a tough game next week and we don’t want to waste this wonderful victory and not be able to play next week because we pat ourselves on back about the good job we did this week.”

"There’s no question we have turned the corner. It can be a sharp one, or a long bend in the road, but we haven’t turned the corner until we’ve finished the job and that starts next week with Vanderbilt.”

#29 Alfonso Smith, TB
On Kentucky’s upcoming games…
“This was a big stepping block for us but now we have Vanderbilt. We have to stay focused. We only need one more win before we can go bowling.”

#28 Tony Dixon, RB
On facing Vanderbilt next Saturday…
“We have to prepare for Vanderbilt, and we can’t overlook them. We have to play as well as we did today.”

Don't you guys think that the Cats' beating Georgia took some of the wind out of Vandy's sails yesterday? I betcha it will.

NO! I do not; we basically wrecked Vandy'sseason last year and I expect Vandy to come in here and do everything in their power to return the favor this year. I think Vandy is going to be very fired up and ready to play. I hope you are right, but I don't think so.

I so want Brian to be right on this one. However, I expect Vandy to come in here quite fired up, especially because of how we ended their bowl hopes last season.

Also, Vandy can still become bowl eligible by beating us and UT. Having barely lost to Florida yesterday and having outgained Florida by 391 yards to 330 yards (besides having 298 yards gained in the air), I suspect Vandy thinks that it can pull off BOTH of those victories and become bowl-eligible. Too, what is scary to me is that Vandy has played Arkansas far closer than any SEC opponent, besides losing the Arkansas game on a field goal their kicker normally makes, according tothe Vandy coaches after the game.

I don't think we overlook Vanderbilt, as the coaches will surely be emphasizing those numbers I just shared, besides the fact that Vandy beat Georgia in Athens. What concerns me, though, is that we could not overlook Vanderbiltbut still lose the game because Vandy has aGOOD football team, merely based on how it has competed against some very good teams.

FWIW,as I shared with some, I had felt more confident about our chances against Georgia than our chances against Vanderbilt, especially with its scrambling quarterback. Turnovers may be the key, still again. Further, may the Cats win that battle and the game, still again! :)GO CATS! BEAT VANDY!

I overlooked Vanderbilt once.......from my room at the Nashville Marriott and Vanderbilt. Definitely a perfect view at the field if you don't have tickets for next years football game at Vandy. :D
