I would like to see the administration put buckets at the entrance for the next game so fans would have a chance to contribute to the fine.
I would love to drop a dollar or two in a bucket to pay for the wonderful feeling of goal posts hitting the ground.

I think the coaching staff should pick up the tab to "make peace with the fan base" it would be a good p.r. move.

Todd has no problem paying for it. And he will likely love paying for it again should it need to happen.
$7500 is nothing compared to getting some fan excitement back again.

The fine is nothing compared to the cost of replacing the posts at about $50k......still a bargain.:thumbup

Where'd you get the $50K number? UK Assistant AD Russ Pear said that new ones would cost between $2500 and $3000 to install.

That was a swag without any research. That is an old figure that I pulled from my memory of the BAMA de-posting way back when. That was a time when those steel ones cost a lot of dough.
If Asst AD Pear says they are $3k, and he should know, then we have likely switched to aluminum. In the mid 90's a lot of folks used steel because they were safer, and there was litigation over injuries to fans. No doubt there is better technology today.

They ordered two new goal posts yesterday morning so they would match. The talk of a collapasable goal posts was mentioned but due to the time constraints they got regular ones instead.

plus collapsable would mean we plan on doing this again soon (the tearing down part). hopefully we're getting to the level where we expect wins like this.

And I doubt a win over Vandy or UL-Monroe would be cause for goal post destruction, so they're safe with going cheap for the remainder of the season.

Why don't they use some of that out-of-state tuition money their taking from me to pay for it? Or they could use the scholarship money they didn't give me for it. Either way, Lee Todd should pay!
