At least for now, the heat has transferred from our Coach Brooks to about 400 miles south in Bulldog Nation.

Don't expect staff changes from Richt

Athens — Beloved today, beheaded tomorrow.

Such is the life of a college football (http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sports/uga/stories/2006/11/06/1107ugafoot.html#) coach. As Georgia's season has unraveled — it fell to 6-4 with Saturday's surprising 24-20 loss at Kentucky — the cries for heads to roll have grown louder and louder from Bulldog Nation.

Head coach Mark Richt, the recipient of a still-wet-with-ink contract extension, says he's not going anywhere any time soon and is rarely the object of the head-hunting, anyway. But surely he's considering a reorganization of his coaching staff to account for this horrid season, right?

Don't count on it.

Richt is a solid coach and a good man having an off year by Georgia standards.

They'll be back.

Petrino could take some lessons in class from Richt.

Ditto.

It seems to me that about 80% of Georgia's problems can be tied to the QB issue. During our game the announcers said Georgia was 3rd in the league in defense and 14th in the country. With that kind of defense a decent offense will get you to where you want to be.

AMEN, baldcat, on all three statements.
