It certainly played a major role in the win against Georgia.
That probably has a lot to do with the changes in fortune for Oregon State, Oklahoma State and New Mexico State this year too.

there was an article out here in the San Jose paper that said that Southern Cal was plus 60 (yes 60) for the past three years combined and one of the reasons for their problems this year is they are minus double digits in takeaways.
I personally think takeaways can tell a lot of the story when you look at how teams do in different seasons. Which is why in rating teams before the year begins, it is wise to see what their ratio was the year before.
