They didn’t just beat Georgia

In Vanilla Sky Jason Lee tells Tom Cruise, “Just remember, the sweet is never as sweet without the sour, and I know the sour.”
As Kentucky football fans, we’ve experienced more than our share of sour over the years.
But that’s why Saturdays’s win felt so sweet.
I’m sure many people will downplay the significance of this win. Georgia is having a rebuilding year after last year’s SEC championship. They have a true freshman quarterback, have fallen out of the top 25, and only went 1-4 against the SEC East, including a loss in Athens to the division’s cellar dwellers from Nashville .
But as fans, we weren’t just celebrating a win over the 2006 Georgia Bulldogs.
We were celebrating a victory over the ghosts of Chris Doering, Devery Henderson, and every other opposing player who has made a spectacular (or lucky) play to deny a UK upset bid.
