Call me stupid for looking ahead so far but heres the question, if we beat vandy and la monroe, whats the chances of beating the volunteers? crazier things have happened right? What bowl would a 7-5 record get us? A 6-6 might even get us the Liberty Bowl. But how good does 8-4 sound? Too good? maybe not if ainge isnt healthy. Does anyone else remember the LSU game before the hailmary?

If we win 8 (by winning the next 3) we'll be in the Outback Bowl In Tampa.

If we win 2 of the next 3 we'll be in the Peach Bowl in Atlanta.

If we win only 1 of the next 3 games we'll go to the Music City Bowl in Nashville.

If wedon't win any more games ...

Let's not even think about that.

To answer your question, if we beat Vandy and UL-Monroe, and we don't suffer any significant injuries, I would say our chances are good. Our players will be sky high, coming off of a 4 game winning streak.

Let's face it, talent is important but so is wanting it bad. And if we go into Knoxville 7-4 we will not suffering from any letdown.

Ok, follow me on this one....

Tennessee plays Arkansas this weekend, at Arkansas... I smell a loss for the Vols.

UK beats Vandy this weekend, sending the Commadores into a berserk-frenzy, and promptly whup up on Tennessee the following week in Nashville.

That same week, we beat UL (Insert Name Here).

Our record at that time7-4, 4-3 in the SEC. Tennessee's record 7-4, 4-3 in the SEC.

The Big SHOWDWON IN KNOXVILLE on Nov. 25th COULD be for a second place finish in the SEC East behind that F-word team. What a trip that would be.

Just a thought!!

GO CATS!!

Same feelings here, Caveman and Angus.

Too, that Vandy is a "pretty darn good team" is probably an understatement. Vandy is a team that is far better than its record (and Vandy can still become bowl-eligible if it beats both UK and UT, which I feel sure Vandy thinks that it can do).

That Vandy beat Georgia in Athens and just lost last weekendto #6Florida by less than a touchdown while outgainingthem by over sixty yards, besides losing to #11 Arkansas by two points and to Alabama on the road by three points (whilebeing competitive at #2 Michigan) makes meONLY think of beating Vandy right now, for sure. GO CATS! BEAT VANDY!

Call me a skeptic, but we had a much better chance of beating the Vols last year. If UT loses to Vandy AGAIN, they'll be out for blood. Plus we'll be playing on their turf.

I'd love to be wrong and be able to gloat quite a bit at work, but honestly, I don't see it happening. In theory, though, the implications that go along with that possible upset would be HUGE.

Beating UT would surely make this a dream season. I'd be safe to say way beyond mine and anyone else'sexpectations.

As most have said above UT is much stronger than last year when they flat dominated us. They also seem to have gotten over their team turmoil issues from last year.

One of the great things about sports is that we can all speculate but the games are still played on at a time. As of today the big question is can we beat Vandy. They are a tough, disciplined, hard nosed and very well coached team. They also have a lot on the line, a win against us keeps their hopes alive for something that they have not done since 1984, that is to have a winning season and go to a bowl game.

Beating Tennessee is bigger then words, it would be so awesome...As far as our chances against them, I really think we can beat them, not that we are so much better or anything its just that its a huge rivalry and seems like we play them close every year even when we are real down, so with the winning momentum i think we can do it!

GO CATS!!!

Ewe tee is currently 7-2 (3-2). It doesn't matter if they lose or win this week if we beat Vandy because wewould then be 4-3 in the conference and the bestthe volscould be is 5-2 by winning until we meet them. Therefore if we were to beat them we would end up 5-3 and they would be 5-3 but we beat them in head to head so we wouldend up insecond place.

All that means is that if we win out we'll finish in second place, regardless what others do. If we win Saturday against Vandy the worst we will finish is in third (providing SC losesagainst Florida this weekend).

That's exactly right. Our best shot at beating Tennessee was last year when they were down and we had them at home. Here is hopingTennessee gets the double whammy with big wins by Vanderbilt and UK.

I guess you forget LAcat that we were downer. The best way to beat UTK, or UGA, or any other school is to get better.
