The whole state of Kentucky should be sad for Louisville. This was the biggest game for a Kentucky team since the 1951 Sugar Bowl with UK vs Oklahoma. I feel sorry for all you Louisville haters. You're sick Out here in California, UK and UL alums cheer each other on. We actually like each other and are good friends. Is that something new...liking fellow Kentuckians. I'm shocked that UK fans are filled with such hate and venom for an in-state school. How anybody can find glee in this loss is.....

It was a game that you see Kentucky lose constantly in the past.
To dominate early and be up 25-7 only to self destruct.
Stripping the ball and not getting the fumble down on the 4.
The constant 3 and outs in the 2nd half
Giving up a big play late.
And finally..... a missed FG only to be offside and give them a second chance

YEAH! I am so happy tonight!
I had to leave for work about the time that Rutgers tied the game. When I got to work we watched the end of it. One of the officers who knows how much I despise UL got on the radio and said did you hear that score. I said 10-4! He said I thought you sounded pretty happy tonight on the radio.

I don't think it makes us a better team if UL loses. It just makes our lives easier if we don't have to listen to their fans and media drool on and on and on about how wonderful they are and how UK is so bad. I am so UTTERLY tired of hearing the media, even Larry Vaught at my own hometown paper, go on and on about Petrino and the miracle cards. I'm sorry if you think I am "sick" or petty but I will always be happy when UL loses, at any game they play. I will go to sleep with a smile on my face.

I'm sorry Surveyor, I don't know you, but UK fans should should show some class (and so should UL fans) and support other Kentucky schools. This UK-UL hatred is unbelievable. It's hard to believe fellow Kentuckians hating each other like this. Out here in California we have USC vs UCLA, but we're generally friends except for that game...same with Notre Dame.

Blah blah blah. Cry me a river. You think Alabama roots for Auburn? Texas for Texas A&M etc.? I dont think it makes UK better when the birdbrains lose, I just love it when those mulletheads lose. I hope they lose in any sport to any team and it made me even happier the idiots jumped offsides to give them another chance at a FG. LOL

This is not about hating anybody. It's about a rivalry. Rivalries are fun and energizing. I don't like my arch-rival and I never want my arch-rival to win a game in any sport, period, which is part of the deal. I can promise you that you will never hear an Auburn or Alabama fan pulling for the other team. Same for Duke and North Carolina, Texas/Texas A&M, South Carolina/Clemsonand many in-state rivalries. What makes me sick are guys like you trying to turn this into some kind of morality play. It's a freakin' sports rivalry! If you want to love UL when they are not playing UK, fine. But stop with the self-righteousness about how the rest of us are supposed to feel.

I have a GI disorder in which I am frequently nauseated. I've been taking nausea pills all day that haven't helped. But guess what, when Ito kicked that field goal to beat UL with 13 seconds left in the game, my nausea miraculously disappeared!! This is the best I've felt in 3 days. Now if UL can keep losing.....

Well I live in California (or however Arnold says it) and I have no desire to have UL ever win. I have never seen how their winning helps us. SOmeone explain how their winning helps us get recruits, helps us with the media, helps us in any way.
As others have said, you don't root for your state rivals.

Lighten up a little.
These guys are right. You have to live here to get the full story.
As for me...I truly respect the job UL has done to resurrect their program to this level. Actually, it is amazing and I am envious of their position. But I hold no respect for Petrino (or Pitino or any of their coaches who's name ends in O) simply because I think they are void of ethics. Doesn't mean they are not good coaches, but sometimes, at least for me, it should go beyond that.
UL will continue to win their fair share of games. Don't fret. But these peckerwoods are in my grill constantly around here about it and a little humility goes a long way.

lol :):):)
It is not a matter of hate it is a matter of dislike. Just because some Kentucians do not pull for UL does not mean they hate. I am sorry this spoiled your season but the sun will come up and life goes on.
It was a football team between two good teams. Neither are great and neither deserve to play in a national championship. That game should be reserved for two truly great teams.
These things have a way of working out. Louisville just doesn't measure up.

Gee LAcat- I'm glad you all smoke the pipe of peace and love out there in California. Must be something in the air.
Last time I looked, every state in the Union (except for California, it seems) has two big universities that hate one another. Some that come to mind are:
Indiana - Purdue
Tennessee - Vanderbilt
West Virginia - Marshall
Oregon - Oregon State
UCLA - Southern Cal (oops - sorry)
Florida - Florida State
Heck - Eastern Kentucky - Western Kentucky
And, don't forget - Notre Dame against everybody
Get a grip. It's sports man - nothing about it is rational.
Me?? I'm glad they lost.

I was speaking to the flawed logic that Louisville doing badly somehow improves UK.
