Tubby Smith's fall signing class could pay spring dividends.
Ramon Harris, a 6-foot-6 forward from Anchorage, Alaska, said last night that he'll sign with the University of Kentucky, and his mother, Carmen Bowles, said her son is eligible to play for the Wildcats in the spring semester
Harris, last season's Class 4-A Player of the Year in Alaska, averaged 16.3 points, 13.1 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game in leading Anchorage West High to its third consecutive Class 4-A state title.
But as this school year began, he hadn't been declared eligible by the NCAA's Initial Eligibility Clearinghouse.
