I'm confused, thought Ramon had been cleared, but Jerry Tipton indicates that well-founded speculation surrounds his ellgibility. Mentioned half-way down in the article.

I just started a similar thread. We will keep this one going and I will delete the one I started. It does appear though that Harris has some issues with the NCaa clearninghouse. Not sure what they are and no need to speculate, but Harris to UK is not a done deal, hopefully everything will work out.

Kap, you can delete this thread---was posting while the other was going up. Looks like other thread has responses---wouldn't want to lose.

Too late dayton, I didn't see any responses so I deleted my thread. This one is fine hopefully others will continue to respond, this could be a big deal. If Lucas picks Maryland, and Harris does not qualify then this very important Nov signing period won't go down as a bust, but it will get a grade C. It will mean KY has to scramble again in the spring for players. Lets hope, Moses qualifies, Harris, qualifies, and Jai picks UK.

I'm with you, Kap---I'm rooting hard for Harris and Moses to be cleared, and I'd really like to see Jai in Blue.

I just checked Matt Jones' blog and he mentions Ramon and elgibility as well. Time will tell. Hoping for the best---the young man sure does seem to really want to be a Wildcat.

For Matt's mention....

It seems unlikely to me that UK would allow Ramon to sign an LOI, make arrangements for him to fly to Lexington, tentatively okay the scholarship, etc. if Harris is not going to be eligible for the second semester.

I'd say this is an issue of lodging and his coursework at the university rather than an NCAA issue. And I'd say Sandy Bell, who seems to be extremely competent (as she should be given UK's history), will have this monitored closely.

This will all work itself out and we'll see Harris in blue and white come December, IMO.

That's why I'm confused by Tipton's comments.

Tipton is correct in that there is an issue with the NCAA clearinghouse or perhaps some "transcript issues". I agree with Will that UK would not allow Ramon to sign an LOI if there was an issue , but I've never heard officially that he has?My gut feeling is that everything will be cleared up this weekend and he'll be allowed to play.
