Good....he deserves it.
I love the fact the Vitale has finally found a coach he will criticize. Man they were giving it to Sampson about the 577 illegal phone calls and the Gordon affair which was slimy with a capital S.

IU's Earl Calloway is Rajon Rondo reincarnated.

Indiana blowing it open. They're up by 20+.
They played terribly for the most part tonight, but IU's gonna have a pretty good team. Wilmont, Calloway, Ratliffe and White is a solid foursome.
In the last 10:00, they've looked like a top 25 team to me.

What gets me is that the NCAA let Sampson off with a slap of his wrist. After intentionally cheating at Oklahoma, he was "punished" and then promptly signed the NUMBER ONE recruiting class inthe nation, clearevidence that he had been punished quite"harshly" by the NCAA. Yeah, right. That, to me, is unreal.
To me, the NCAA appears a "laughingstock" on this one. So perhaps the NCAA will be tough IF Sampson messes up again and gets caught. However, recruiting willprobably be much easierfor him at Indiana, so I'm suspecting he will keep his nose clean now.
Meanwhile Sampson basically got away with "murder" inthe recruiting world. I had respected him in the past, but do not respect the man now (especially since he says thatthey would "never" recruit a kid who had committed to another school,as that is not the way theywork, after having basically done just that, which I read in a Bozich CJ column).
A good question iswhether or not Myles Brand's former ties to Indiana hadanything to do withthe NCAA's going so lightly withits punishment of Sampson at his new school. Again, that Sampsonwent right out and signed the number one class in thenation AFTER being penalized by the NCAA is a joke. Just my humble opinion on the matter.

Ironically Mike Davis beat Sampson while he was at IU. I will never understand why they hired this guy. And I hope he gets them on probation. He is dirty.

Well Trueblue, count me in your camp. I thought Davis was a pretty standup, class guy. He got pretty emotional at times, but nothing compared to the jerk he replaced, yet people still (for some strange reason) admire RMK. Not me, buddy.
Anyway, I hope life treats him fairly. I think he's an okay guy.

I'd like to be happy with this IU close call but last time something like this happened....IU lost to lowly Indiana State only to come back and beat UK by 26 the next game. Also, I look at this rivalry this yr as a lost cause. The game isn't in freedom hall or the dome eliminating the traditional red-blue line and the pep rallies, im in the upper level, the game isn't even being talked about much, it seems like they insist on destroying the tradition piece by piece each yr.

Too, count me in the camp with both of you. From me, Mike DavisreceivesFAR more respect and admiration thaneither Bobby Knightor Kelvin Sampson. I always felt that Davis was a sincere, trustworthy guy who tried to be classy.

Oh, I liked Davis too. A LOT!!!! Wish they would have kept him at Indiana for years. His frustration dances were exceptionally entertaining.

Loved that crazy Davis. Sampson? Not so much.
