I heard that Chuck Hayes called in last night. Did anyone listen?

I heard just a snippet of it while I was driving to work.
Chuck was talking about watching this team. He said he keeps up with the schedule and was looking forward to watching the games this week. :D

Tim Couch called in, too. He's in Florida rehabbing his arm, will start throwing again in 3 weeks.

Great of the past Wildcats to call in. Coasch Tubby and his player, Chuck Hayes, were a solid combo for UK basketball.
Tim Couch could still contirbute toa pro team with an offensive line and a respectable coach.

Yes, I listened, and it was great. Chuck Hayes' LOVE for the UK basketball program was so obvious, and it made me love and miss him that much more. I have previously said and honestly believe that part of Tubby's not being as happy as usual last season was Chuck Hayes' not being there. Tubby LOVED Chuck Hayes and also most obviously still does, based on his responses and reaction to Chuck's call. They relived, together, some of Chuck's finest moments at UK as a player.
Also, Tubby mentioned that IF we had gone on to the Final Four, Chuck would have been the winningest player in college basketball. That we barely missed, in the double overtime loss to MSU, still makes me sick, especially for Chuck.
That Chuck is starting for Houston says something about Chuck Hayes (AND Tubby Smith's development of players, as Matt Jones pointed out). Basically everyone had said that Chuck Hayes had NO FUTURE in the NBA, that he was only a college basketball player. Yeah, right. Here's hoping Chuck recovers quickly (probably a couple of weeks) from his injury while defending Shaq, no less, and gets back into that starting lineup.
Too, yes, it was also neat that former UK football great, Tim Couch, also called into the show. :)
