I watched the first half and a little of the second.
They weren't great. They do a lot in spurts. They'll score 10 or 12 points in a row and then give up 10 or 12 in a row. Like last year, they don't play much defense. And they turn the ball over -- both last night and tonight it was a problem -- more than they did last season, which of course is a byproduct of losing CJ Watson.
Their main problem is that they don't have a point guard. Wasn't impressed at all with Ramar Smith. He looked lost a lot of the time. He might have turned it on late in the game, but in the first half he really struggled.
The freshman Duke Crews was pretty good at times. Athletic, a little undersized maybe, but a decent 4 for that system. The Childress kid plays really hard. And Jajuan Smith is a beast. He gets a little out of control sometimes, but he's a dynamic offensive player.
I'll stand by my earlier prediction: UT's not going to be the team they were last year. They're going to beat a lot of teams, obviously, based solely on the offensive firepower of their backcourt. But without CJ Watson, who I thought was just a fantastic point guard, they're going to have problems keeping that assist/turnover ratio where Pearl wants it. And they are tremendously undersized; if a team can cut down on their turnovers and get it inside, it'll be lights out for the Vols.

I have watched them some. They can be dangerous team in a helter skelter game. But even then they are somewhat weak. I think we could run them into the ground. Or if we went half court with them, we would wear them down. They can't rebound.
Ramar Smith is out of position playing point for them. They have a 6'"6 guy similar to Jasper that is probably a better choice. But he is prone to turn the ball over a lot. They will be sloppy at times, but you can't underestimate them. They can sneak up and beat some people they shouldn't.
