Congrats to John Holmes, for not only getting his PGA Tour card, but also winning the event. Hopefully, he will be successful just like fellow Kentuckians; Kenny Perry, Steve Flesch, and Russ Cochran.

The Campbellsville, Ky., native shot a three-under 69 on the sixth and final day to finish at 408 (-24), three strokes ahead of second-place finisher Alex Cejka. Holmes was the only player in the field with six rounds in the 60s (69-69-68-67-66-69).
Holmes fired a 6-under 66 on Sunday to move into a tie for the lead with D.A. Points with one round left in the tense six-round event. It was a lead he would not relinquish as Holmes had five birdies in a six-hole span Sunday and recorded five on the final day of play. His 32 birdies led the pack while he ranked second with three eagles.
Congrats to John!!

UNBELIEVABLE accomplishment. This kid has a real shot to make it big on the tour--and to WIN the Q-school is amazing. I know some TERRIFIC golfers that couldn't make the first cut--much less win the Q-school.
Hard to understand the magnitude of this accomplishment--congratulations John!

Man, that is a heck of an achievement for this young man. They don't make that Q-school easy. You have to play a 5 day tourney on a different PGA course every day. And to shoot in the 60s every day and win the sucker is really something. Best of luck to him on the tour. I'm looking forward to seeing some of those 400 plus yard drives of his at Augusta next April.

The only people that can't get past his name are those with serious maturity issues.

Elijah,
Great point--I find it amazing that anyone would think that--much less put it in print.
This kid is a great kid by all accoounts and, from a very close source that has known him since his high school days, he is a very special player--and has a chance to do great things are tour. He is that good and works that hard.

Dislexia is a very misunderstood problem. People who suffer from this condition are often labled as dumb, slower than normal, or just someone who doesn't want to put forth effort. I know several people who suffer from this condition. And like any other showing of weakness, people are quick to jump on and judge people for their short comings. Congratulations to Mr. Holmes and best of luck to him in his pro golfing career.

What happened to J.B Holmes this weekend, I heard he had a share of the lead on friday at -7, but never heard or saw anything on the leaderboard after that.
