For thoseunaware. Soccer is arguably. The largest sporting event in world. In 2006, a month long tournement in June within Germany. Team USA looks for international respect. Roughly 650 athletes will compete for Thirty Two countries. Some 80 will be from the English Premiership League (E. P. L.). That is how tough soccer can be. The slowness turns off but spectrum nicely articulates amount of goals.
Our confederationpaid some $325 million for coverage. Sure most consider Mexico to flaunt and probably will. The truth is USA brings alot to table and won qualifacaton on a loss by Team mexico during last match. For those interested, The Draw starts Friday and will be on ESPN2 @ 3:00 to 4:00. Here is couple of sites for information. Kinda March Mayhem related.

Here is schedule. Team USA has quirks to work out. We could be sent pack'in earily but a maximum of six matches. This motivates to match 4 maybe five. We might even be consider Group of Death...

Team USA did not get group of Death. It was close but the Group is C, still a cup to remember. Coach Bruce Arena recently became winningest coach in history for USA. This Cup will challenge Aspect of The Beautiful Game!

I became a fan of soccer especially of the World Cup when I began playing in a soccer league after moving out to Boulder, CO to get to know fellow IBMers and make new friends. One played for Norway and another was asked to play professionally for Peru.

A very tough draw for the States and looks like Italy will be the fave in their group. Considering the US is doing probably the best ever (highest World Ranking this past year??) hoping they can grab one of the two playoff spots after round robin play.

Well there is talk of soccer going high tech. The smart ball will not be in play. The experimentation ball will consist of sensors and six recievers on each corner of field. Then two transmitters at half field. A cross triangular grid would depict signal to referee of situation by beeper. This will tell where ball is and if goal is score. The players would have sensors in shorts and shin guards to relay offsides maybe infringement. This will make alot of people happy about miss calls. It just will not be now...
