Emmitt Smith’s Friday News and Views (../modules/news/article.php?storyid=1804)

by Matt Jones @ 12:15 am. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

Well tonight was the first night that I actually felt like college basketball season was in full effect. I come home, sit back and watch Michigan St-Texas in a good, tight game that goes down to the end. Both teams are young and thus there were more freshman on the floor than in Mark Foley’s office, but it was nevertheless an exciting game, with lots of energy. One thing that did stand out however was a young man named Kevin Durant. Folks if you havent seen Kevin Durant….do it quickly, cause he aint gonna be in college long. When you watch Durant, you see what Perry Stevenson can be if he develops more offensive moves….long arms, huge leaping ability and tons of energy. Durant is where Stevenson CAN be his junior year, and that is very exciting. But as for Durant, after seeing him in this game, I am not ready to name Greg Oden Freshman of the Year just yet.

From the article:

(1) With the Lucas and Patterson shows moving to the Spring, the focus now shifts to what may be the new “most important” recruit, Marshall Moses.

Does this mean Patterson is no longer our number one target? How did this happen since he has not eliminated us. I thought Patterson and his mother were being told all along he was number one.

What gives?

I think what this means is that we must get Moses in here and continue to pursue Patterson. No way we can afford losing both. Moses is blowing up in his games (50 points in his first outing)and will be coveted by more than just us. Already NC St is on his heels. Tubby and UK cannot lose both of these kids and Moses is ready to commit now while Patterson is not.

Sort of. he didnt get cleared till the day before the signing period was over and he has never taken an offical visit here. If the staff plays the cards right he will still be here next year. If he ends up at NC State it will have been an enourmous blunder by us.
