Center coach Larry Taddeo isn't saying much about his team, but he can't keep two-way starter Ashton Cobb a secret.
Cobb, a 2004 all-Midwestern Conference selection at defensive back, drew interest from Cincinnati, Indiana, Bowling Green and Akron, but decided to make a verbal commitment to Kentucky.
"I like it down there," said Cobb. "The coaches have the program going in the right direction. You just get a good feeling about the team."
College recruiters started pursuing him at the end of his sophomore year, but Cobb says he never was distracted by the attention. He did say, however, that it got a little bothersome.
"(The recruiters) aren't that bad," he said. "You have to know how to manage them. I enjoyed the hype for bit, but then, it got annoying. They stopped pursuing me after I made the verbal commitment to Kentucky."...
